It can and has been done. There is no adapter, you would have to hard wire every single wire into the evo ecu plug. The 1g eprom ecu is perfectly capable of being tuned with a few different methods.

You don't "Have" to hard wire anything, I've build jumper harnesses to put either H8 or Evo Ecu's in 1g's it's not to hard. Just need to know what wire goes where depending on what your doing. I consider it the best way to as it's not permanent.

As far as the tuning the EVO and H8 Ecu's have way biger and higher resolution maps then any other EMS.

If any body is DYI savvy or Knows Evoscan/Ecuflash it's a great option. The black case Ecu's have a number of things over a 1g Ecu like faster processors and better injector drivers to name a few.
