Evo 8?

Hello guys.

So after winter I'm looking at buying a new car. My current car (95 OLDS) is starting to get a little tired (210 K).

I'm interested in possibly taking out a loan on an older Evo 8. Probably like a 2005.


I believe there are three different types? An MR, GSR?? And one other?

What are the disadvantages/advantages of each.


Keep in mind this is kind of a quick idea so I haven't done a thorough search and this is the first place I came.


Opinions please?

The other is the rs without the wing, if i were you i would get the MR.

RS--GSR--MR

05 comes in SSL also, SSL= sound,sunroof and leather
Rs= no abs, no power windows, no radio, aluminum roof..5speed
GSR= power everything and normal roof with ABS 5speed
MR= aluminum roof, bilstein suspension and different rims, 6-speed thats prone to go out, 4,5, and 6 are garbage gears that break all the time.

Don't get the 6 speed, the gear ratios suck as does the rest of the tranny vs the really tough 5 speed.

Okay thanks for the info guys, I'll have to look into the site and see whats all going on. By the looks of it its going to have to be an GSR.

I'd rather have ABS, I'm getting a NEW car for a reason .

I wouldn't mind an RS but at the moment I need a daily driver/sporty car not a full out race car. I also don't want the 6 speed for the exact reasons you guys were saying.
