i really like the evo 8 rims and i wanted to know if they would fit on my 1997 gsx. i cant seem to find the bolt pattern for the evo, but i know the gsx is 114.3. any help would be appriciated. i like them cause they are dark, have the mitsu logo on them, and they are 8inches wide. yum.

here is the ONLY pic i took of Scot's 1G at the last SoCAL DSM meet. Sorry for the poor quality but in real life it is amazing its the total package. FP Green, full JIC suspension, Stop-Tech brakes, sticky tires, and all that while maintaining a sleeper status look. That gets 2 :thumb: :thumb: in my book

the stock 97 gsx rims look better imo ...

If you're into small blinged rims, maybe. These are 8 inches wide, you can get them with VERY nice street rubber for cheap from Evo owners that upgraded, and they fit over stoptechs.

this thread made me get the evo rims :) $300 with halfway used tires. but i have to wait for my coilovers :(

Why do you have to wait for your coilovers? I never updated this thread, but I put these on with stock suspension and the only time it ever rubbed was at full compression in the rear (on a road course) and that can be taken care of VERY easily. If you look under the fenders (in the REAR only) you'll see that there's a metal lip that sticks out that has a slightly raised end that makes a right angle down at the tire. If you lightly hammer this upwards a couple millimeter (I don't even consider it a true part of the fender) you should have 100% clearance with stock suspension and evo wheels/tires with full tread.

My personal favorite (yes the Evo wheels are near black from brake dust)

Pictures when the wheels were new/just mounted:

Here's my old 1g. The evo rims seemed to have slightly different backspacing and they stuckout a little up front. The rears fit awesome.

Evo rims pop up in the classifieds on www.evolutionm.net all the time. I want to see a dsm with MR bbs rims.

i dont want wheel gap. i kinda want NO wheel gap at all. at what height will it rub? i know about the rear fender. i've seen my 240sx buddies always do that. :D so is it possible to have no wheel gap?

Oh, and they rub. Not too often. But the 245/45's have a factor in that LOL.

I believe that is correct. Either 235/40 or 235/45.

245s are just a lot of meat. I hit a bump and the steering wheel practically does what it wants. It was hard to get used to, but now I love it.

I was able to pick up a set of evo9 rims off of craigslist with the 235/45/17 advan AO46 tires for $500. They fit perfectly and even had Mitsubishi center caps.
