i really like the evo 8 rims and i wanted to know if they would fit on my 1997 gsx. i cant seem to find the bolt pattern for the evo, but i know the gsx is 114.3. any help would be appriciated. i like them cause they are dark, have the mitsu logo on them, and they are 8inches wide. yum.

For the price a Mitsubishi dealership would charge for those wheels (enkei made btw), you would be better off buying a good/light aftermarket one. Unless you could find an EVO VIII owner who is looking to get rid of his on ebay or something.

I tried to sell my rims to get those rims too! they are sexy!
and the tires are supposdly pretty good too :D

btw...the kill list is...uhh...yeah, congrats!

Hey, you just chill man, it says the cavalier was modified, who know what it had in it! hahahahahahaha

umm, im not selling the gsx rims, cause i need those for winter time. if i do decide to sell them ill let you all know. as for the cavalier... it was slow, but a kill is a kill. i wonder where i can find these rims cheap.

They are yokohama Advans, 235-45-17 i believe, maybe 235-40-17
but i know they are 235, and 17. the ratio is what i am not sure of. but they are GREAT tires, i mean shit, it says ADVAN on them. cant get any better than ADVAN and Yokohama. it IS on an EVO! i really want this setup too.
if anyoen successfully gets evo 8 parts on their car, please post! because i want evo8: seats, steering wheel, rims, shift knob. you know , just the basics!

The rims are Enkei rims, so you can buy them anywhere. Same with brakes. Find a big brake kit online.

As far as the seats, they are Recaro's. Which model, i forget. I have an Evolution shift knob, love it. I havent heard much of the steering wheel though.

"Green" you were right the first time. 235/45/17's.

Sure you can get Enkei's anywhere, Recaros anywhere and Yokohamas anywhere, but how many people can say those items were made specifically for their vehicle's needs and specifications? Evo owners can.

Of course.

But its kind of silly buying recaro's off of a evo for more than those same recaro's could be had elsewhere. same with the rims.

But hey, if its like that Type R thing...you know how all the honda guys nuts over having a type r gauge bezel and a type R shift knob...so be it.

OMG, I wasn't suggesting he buy them new. I am sure there are plenty of Evo owners ready to sell there little used stock rims (and tires) for a lot less then even a new pair of "generic" Enkeis.

ive looked btw, those enkei rims are very close to the RS6 rims seen here and i think those are alright, but i dont particularly like those rivity looking things around the edges. i might just go to the mitsu dealership down the road and see how much they would charge me for a set of them. if its not too much i might just get them. ill keep you posted on the price.

edit....
the RS6 rims dont come in 8 inches wide. i definately need some evo rims.

just a lil FYI, you can pick up a set of 4 evo8 rims with tires, with like 2000 miles, for like 700 or 800 bucks. if you look on ebay there are like 4 or 5 sets on there now!

i cant seem to find them... what did you search under?

Scott Gary uses EVO 8 rims for his street wheels on his black 1G (he is the one that comes overall third in this years Ultimate Street Car Challenge & last year came in 6th due major accidents). They look VERY nice, clean, and simple wheel to keep the PO-PO away. :dsm:

This is correct. I can't find a picture offhand with Scot Gray's 1g wearing the Evo8 Enkeis, but he does have a set.

Here's a picture (attached) of my buddy's 2g wearing Evo8 Enkeis at the track (Streets of Willow) coming on to the main straightaway.

The rubber they come with is pretty good so if you can get the right price they are an excellent upgrade (they are not light, though).

do you need spacers for them to work on our cars??? any rubbing issues??? what size are the stock tires???

You don't need spacers. I am not sure about rubbing issues. I "believe" he said that he needed to change some of the alignment, namely adding negative camber, in order to keep things peachy. I don't know for sure, though, as he had aftermarket suspension. I have a set waiting in the garage and will be going with a Muellerized JIC from RRE setup so I'm not worried about getting them working.

I think they will look great. I have seen these wheels on a black 1g, a red 1g, and the white 2g I attached pictures of. I have a set sitting in my garage right now waiting for my black 2ga DSM to be running again. Here's another picture:
