Evo 3 16G

Do u need a EVO3 O2 housing for a EVO 3 16G or can i just use the stock 02 housing? I have a 2G, can i get by with just a 2G install kit and stock exhaust manifold and 02 housing?

Yes, both will be fine. You may want to port at least your 02 housing though. It should work fine with the turbo though. Also I wouldnt waste your money on an install kit.

What would you suggest doing instead of buying an install kit??? I looked for every way not to buy one but found it best to get one for a sure install.

No you don't need the evo o2 but i would highly suggest porting everything before you install. 16g's are known for creeping. You don't wanna put in on and creep and then have to take it all off again.

For my 14b install, I used the following -

1G j-pipe (came with turbo)
1G oil feed line (came with turbo)
1G water line (came with turbo)
2G water line (didn't bend or anything)
2G oil return line (filed the holes closer together)
gasket paper ($5)
3/8" (I think) fuel line ($5)
2 new crush washers for the oil feed line (free)
1G oil feed line head bolt (free from friend)

I would recommend all of that, except the 1g oil feed from the head, That is the only thing I wouldnt skimp on, you can get a SS oil feed line to filter housing for 35shipped for a new one. Also may want to consider a new gasket for the j-pipe/compressor housing connection.

Also what is the minimum boost setting on the EVO 3. I know it has a stiffer wastegate spring so the min boost must be higher. Will i be able to run that min boost with just a re-wired 190 fuel pump?
