Hey guys, whats the name of our chips that are installed in our EPROM ecu's from the FACTORY.
There are a ton of chips out there and frankly its exhausting trying to figure out which one it is without my ecu right in front of my face.
I'm looking to experiment with my own chip burning and trying to figure out which chip works in our dsm's. Also, which chip is erasable if there are any for our cars out there.

If you do know which chip it is, where can I get one? Unprogrammed and erasable

Any help would be appreciated.

it's called the eeprom chip. Just need to find out how many pins it is.

No I'm talking about whats the stock number?
I realize its a 28 pin chip. There are about a bazillion 28 pin chips out there...which one works with our eprom and is erasable?

Like which one does DSMLink or Keydriver use?

Wow, equally as good. Maybe I should make a consolidation post for everyone out there....i've accumulated about 50+ websites with great information or places to buy chips or cables or mail order brides, Its crazy stuff i tell ya.

Thanks for the sites guys. Keep em coming...

Now guys, which socket would you use? I'm leaning towards the ZIF low profile 28 pin socket and I guess since those sst chips are the only ones I can find at the moment. I've found a few places to buy cables but they're awfully pricey.
Where would yall buy a data cable for a 1g with the usb/db9 port going to a clearish/tan 1g block to plug into the diag port? Any will do i guess, just to know that they're out there, expensive or not.

I used a D2 DIP soldered onto the board with a S2 ZIF plugged into it.

Morpherex: How do you like tunerpro? What is the expandability as far as fuel/timing maps above 8K rpm? How about MAF's does anyone have EVO mas files yet?

I've not used it yet. I have heard it's got more options than dsmlink though if you want it to..
