Hey guys I need some advice, I just got my ECU EPROM and right now I can't afford the DSMLink right now, but upgrades I'm running is 750cc injectors, AFPR, 2G MAF, and 255 FP. Ok I bought some of these things from a buddy and he also has a flashed chip he will sell to me that he used for the 750cc injectors and 2g MAF, so I'm thinking about buying that from him, how much do you guys think I should buy the flashed chip for?

honestly i would wait and just get the dsm link vs buying a chip. Are you running a bigger turbo? if not you dont even need that stuff installed yet.

It's only a small IC chip, if it's from a friend maybe just borrow it? If it was me, I would offer $10 for it not knowing the origins of the "tune".

Its stock turbo but the chip ran with same mods on his car just fine im only shooting for like 300hp right now nothing to big im fine with stock turbo right now

Chips are next to nothing to burn. I have old Keydiver chips, TMO Chips, and various other things. The chips themselves are cheap. The process is simple. Everything about chip burning is easy. ;) I never understood why people paid so much for them.

As others have mentioned, however, I would certainly not trust a Chip made by someone else and you know nothing of the 'Tune' that's burnt onto it.

This is 100% correct. Having a chip burned for your specific setup is incredibly inexpensive. What is worth more to you..? Paying 10 bucks for a EPROM Chip burned exclusively for your DSM or installing an 'unknown' and paying for it in time, blood, sweat and tears in trying to hunt down inconsistencies created by it? ;)

Food for thought.

Do you guys know any sites that sell flashed chips or can make them. Im in an area that has no performance shops

Several people here on the site can do it, myself included. All it requires is a chip burner, a basic free program like TunerPro RT, and a few EEPROM chips. ;)

Essentially when you remove your chip, (I assume you're socketed), this is what you'll see, about.

You take a chip like this ...

This is a Burnable 27SF512 Chip. It's the exact same thing as the EPROM chip in the bottom right corner of the picture above.

Then slap it right back in your ECU.
