1G Engine Timing Adjustment

Looking for some help in trying to adjust the timing on a 94 Eagle talon 2.0 liter DOHC. We have set timing to correct marks and have read all of the Haynes manual in regards to the timing but it is still running horribly. sounds as if it is still out of time. can anyone offer any suggestions on what the problem still might be?

If your talking about the timing belt forget Haynes and use this: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/timingbelt-1G.html
