1G engine swap on a 93 eclipse gs

hey guys i have been thinking about doing a engine swap on my 93 eclipse gs and was wondering what type of engine would be good i thinking about putting a JDM 4G63T-Eclipse 90-94, Twin Turbo DOHC engine in it but dont know if there is anything better out there.... does anyone have any suggestions on what type of engine would be good to replace my stock 1.8

I have done the swap like 6 years or so ago on my 94'. Your best bet is to find a donor car so you will have all the parts you need. The way i did my swap made the car Identical in every way to a turbo car except for where I mounted the injector resistor pack. All wiring and everything is identical. I chose to run the extra wires ans retain the existing harness due to I was running the auto trans that came with the car. It is a very easy swap and if you don't beat on the car to hard you can use your trans and such. If you can't find a donor car then get the list of parts needed and do it that way. I wouldn't recommend one of the "jdm" engines. I went that route on the second engine I put in my car. I ended up having about twice the amount into the engine when I got it finally running reliably. Also most of the engines they claim as 91-94 are actually 90 engines. and have a hell of alot more then 30k miles on them. Mine blew a balance shaft bearing within a hundred miles of installing it and took out the crank.

i just looked at your website and its clearly a typo. there was no factory 4g63 twin turbo, jdm or otherwise. also i'll tell you right now there is no way i would buy an engine from a company called rims and things, . But maybe that's just me.

i also like how it says it comes with a distributor, since the 4g63 has a distributorless ignition system.

Im so sorry, i did not notice you had a 1.8L. I read you had a GS and im new to this forum and forgot they can have a 1.8L i just assumed you had a 2.0L

dsm'r sk1mp thanks for the help on locating those craigslist post i have looked them over once befor tonight and am not a 100% sure about them i found a 4g63 porter crat engine thats right up my ally one because its lime green that being my fav color and to it haveing at little under 400hp idk on what im going to do with the engine swap at the moment am going to do a lil more homework on and and gather a lil more advice from dsmers like everyone that has helped me out so far with all the advice so far thanks all
