Ok i had a oil line pop off on the way home the other day and spray all my oil out over the front of my engine bay and i heard a "rannnn" noise and the car shut off. i fixed the leak. changed the oil, oil filter, and plugs. now the car turns over but wont start. its like im not gettin any fire. Help me out guys i need this car runnin.

Yep let us know your compression test results. +1 on low/no compression.

Just thought of something... If you did in fact lose oil pressure maybe some of your rockers came loose/off. If your lifters had no oil in them they could have potentially compressed all the way leaving enough room for the rockers to fall off. It's a slim chance but it would explain a no compression situation. Plus, you did say it stalled on you. It is possible.

How does holding the throttle all the way down while cranking clear out a flooded engine? - Not being a smart ass really. I didn't know that.

Yea i was driving and saw smoke and then the oil pressure dropped and i heard a rannnn noise and it died on me and it just cruised to a stop. i popped the hood and oil all over the front of the engine bay. Ive since changed the oil, oil filter, plugs, and used about 2 cans of brake parts cleaner to clean it up and clean various electrical connectors. Its been drying all day. Did a spark check and its sparking when the plug is on the end of the wire outside of the cylinder. fuel is gettin to the plugs thats for sure ### i can smell it on the plugs when i pull em out. Ive checked every connection i can think of and their all hooked up. It turns over but wont start. Just spins, video up above.

If its glazed cylinder walls, whats the repair consist of?

My older friend who owns a 91 gsx, and has been running a successful garage/tuning business for over 10 years also said it could be my cam sensor since switching to the stock ecu didnt fix it.
If its my cam sensor how much of a pain would that be?

would holding the gas down while starting help ne thing or just hurt it?

I'm not 100%, I did this on my dads suggestion when I had flooded my engine during tuning (Hes been a mechanic for 30-some-odd years) and it worked like a charm.

My best educated guess would be, that holding the throttle down opens the the throttle body all the way, allowing air to move in and out of the cylinders and the gas to evaporate and escape.

when my buddy had glazed cylinder walls he had the motor pulled apart put in a hot tank and it cleaned it up.....thats just what he told me...idk

Gas pedal thing didnt work. sputtered like it was gonna start but didnt. gonna try and get out of duty tommorow and do a compression test. The place with the tool closed before i could go buy one. so hopefully i can get it done tommorow. if not itll be done monday at the latest. for now i took all the plugs and wires up to try and helpevaporate all the gas from the cylinder and help dry out the plugs and ill give it a try in the morning or so.

Yep, two things you can check: Pull the valve cover to check for out of place rocker arms, and try swapping out the CAS...

Actually have somebody crank the car while you move your CAS back and fourth, also try hitting it LIGHTLY, maybe it's gone bad.

The thing is if you have fuel, spark and compression (which I think you do), the only other thing is needed is to provide the spark at the certain time... I mean it might have a spark, but it doesn't mean that it's timed properly, meaning a CAS

iight guys thanks alot for all your help. dont forget about me. hopefully i can come home on my duty day and get this thing figured out tommorow. ill try those things tommorow to see if i can get her going.

all autoparts stores sell them and they are ungodly expensive upwards of 400$

I would go to a salvage yard..

This is probably not a problem with not starting, but there are a few other things you should check as well.

1) Due to the loss of oil, you should check your crank for play because you may have fried a few of you bearings.
2) Check your turbo for shaft play in case that got starved as well.

To me it sounds like 1 or more bearings spun because of no oil pressure. A compression test will tell you everything.

ok im gonna try and get out of duty for a few hours at least to run a compression test. and figure out wats goin on. hopefully nothing to insane. i gotta look for salvage yards around here.

**Ill run a test today at lunch and post the results.**

got a compression tester and it was showing 0,0,0,0. pulled the valve cover back off and found this. What now? How to fix this problem?

Looks like there are more than one stuck valve. From your pictures there I see 2 rockers that are not even touching the cam OMG. Best case senario you need a new head. Sorry dude.

DONT TURN THE CAR OVER WITH THE VALVE COVER OFF. oil will literally spew EVERYWHERE. What you need to do now is to 1. start looking for a good deal on a headgasket your gonna need a new one. 2. Start taking all of the stuff off of the engine (CAS, ignition coil etc) Then you need to undo the head bolts and take off the cylinder head. Take it to a shop that specializes in cylinder head repair and see what they say you need to do. This is what im imagining you will need to do, New valves (i imagine there will be damage to them with them being pushed so far down, you might get lucky though) You will need to shave the cylinderhead for a good gasket surface, and have a valve job performed where they grind the valve seats etc so the new valves seal right. Also when you take your timing belt off inspect it to see if it snapped or is going out on you.

well someone here has a 6 bolt 1g cylinder head for sale for 160. its a remanufactured one with 15,000 miles on it.
Should i go with a cometic or will any metal head gasket do fine?
