Emmisions question

making a car passes really depends on how your area tests. In my area a 96 and newer just has to the visual inpsection and a ODB-II tests. With a 96 (IE my car) I am allowed 0 fails, 3 not readies, to pass. Which means with DSMlink I an just disable the EGR evap tests, and roll up and pass in minutes. DSMlink does not fake the tests, just prevents it from running so I get the "not ready" status.

In your case I do not know how the test, is it a sniffer? if so rolling or idle? altering fuel and timing can really make the emissions change, so with out any fuel control if "MAY" be hard to pass if the car is modified seriously. But then it depends on the set up.

If you fail, then you need to pass. Plain and simple. There are several posts about what people have done to pass emissions depending on there tests and what there results were. maybe read up on it before you modify your car and see if its something you want to have to do yearly, before jumping into it. Also there are several locval DSM chapters, search around for one in your area, chances are the more knowledgeable members can give yon some additional insite you your specific area.
