EGT's above 1600 farenheit -Need feedback on dyno run-300hp!

I have not read through all of the posts but you do not want to go above 900C!!!!!!!!!!! That is a bad, bad, bad idea!!!!! I bet your car was seeing a gripload of knock, & your timing was being retarded, therefore your EGT's shot throught the roof!!!!! You will notice when you are getting good timing advance and little or no knock your car is not going to run anywhere near that hot!
 
The actual number of the guage is not that important, but rather the speed at which you reach that point.

The high egt is caused by the poor timing advance.
 
the car is doing much better now. egts are around 850 celsius at WOT in 3rd gear at 115 mph. i feel much better now.

this is kinda off topic, but my egt's were being weird if my coolant temp got too high. I read somewhere that past a certain temp point, the ecu starts pulling timing. Not sure if this is correct, but I'll throw it out there. My EGT gauge would bounce all over the place when I was missing a radiator fan (blew a fuse and melted :( ) Replaced the fan and it has not bounced around since.

if this guys built a 800 hp FWD seems like he would be smart enough to let you know you will blow your motor apart runing high boost on a bigger turbo and stock injectors..

I have a freind who was making very good power with 450's a 97 GSX with a greddy 18g . he ran a 7.80 @ 98 mph 1/8th mile on race gas.. BUT I can also show you pictures of his rods broke in two pieces. pistons broke in half, 7 boltb block with a huge hole in the side of it..


point is yes he is right you CAN use the 450's BUT why when you have something safer already
