I recently got DSMlink for my 95 tsi awd. It's got the EvoIII B16g ported with the 34mm flapper. modified exhaust, gutted cat, 550cc injectors, walbro 255lph, greddy type s bov vented, and hacked intake box and tube. I've been doing a fair amount of tuning lately. Under full boost, 12psi right now, i'm getting 10.x and under moderate throttle on the freeway i'll get 12.x and moderate on the street i'll get 14.x The problem is that i am kinda baffled why under cruising and idle and just general driving i get 18.00. I'm guessing it's due to insufficient load on the engine to suck in enough air so it in turn runs lean, thus not being an abnormality. I just wanna make sure about this and i'm am running off of the notion that i should tune for about 10.5 under boost? I've also heard 14.7 but i'm dont know. Thanks, Brandon [VFRacing]

Tune for like 11.2-11.7afr (whichever your car likes the most) for WOT. 14.7afr is for cruising. What are you using to get the afr?

what do you mean, "what am i using?" I have just been adjusting the airflow up and down mostly, i did some tuning for the fuel at wot which i need to do some more since i'm at 10 but i plan to up the boost to 14 and then 16 as time goes on. i haven't touched timing timing yet and im not really seeing why i should touch it right now since i dont get knock at all, even under wot. I am dont know much about modifying the timing though unless to get rid of knock....

You cannot affect partial throttle cruising. So don't even worry about it.

He means...what device is being used to gather these air/fuel ratio numbers. You are using the estimate which dsmlink provides and which can be fairly accurate (.1-.2 based on what I have seen with a bosch wideband at the dyno and the plx wideband in my car) if you have it set up correctly.

yeah i realize that now, but i'm not running anything but the stock o2 sensor and just reading off the dsmlink through it. i am just baffled because sometimes it will read at idle and cruise as 14.x and 15.x which is fine but then suddenly it'll shoot to 18 and stay there even though nothing has changed elsewhere in the car.
