egt sensor stripped

well like the title says...got most of my small kinks worked out...now my egt probe is stripped...anyway i can re tap it? if so what size? i read some were 1/8 npa and some were 1/4 npa ..its a auto meter pyrometer series btw..i just shoved a nut to block the hole for now...its not a daily...but i need to get the probe back in

All the Autometer EGT Probes I've seen were 1/8NPT. Since NPT threads are tapered, you may be able to retap the probe adapter, however, the more you tap, the deeper the thread mounts. Which particular part of the assembly is stripped? Most kits use an adapter that threads into the manifold/downpipe and then a nut shaped like a cap to secure the sensor.
