So I start today planning on an easy project after school. So I get home from school and start replacing my o2 sensor. I literally though this would take maybe 30 minutes max. I go to take the o2 sensor out of the housing. All I had was a standard size wrench that would fit pretty tight. So I went ahead and used it. I doused it with pb blaster, and started wrenching.... Nothing, it wont move at all and was starting to round the corners. So I go to autozone and pick up a 20mm wrench. Get home and it wont fit. Go back to autozone and pick up a 21mm. Nope. Back to autozone. This time, I get a special socket for taking an o2 sensor out. I get back, and it fits good. I get impatient and clip the wires at the base because they were in the way. And I figured I wouldn't have to use them again. This socket is what really stripped the corners of the sensor. Once it was getting pretty bad. I switch over to vice grips. You guessed it, it didn't budge. So now I bust out the monkey wrench. Had it stuck on there real good, but could not get it to move for the life of me, or my friend. I finally decide to take my o2 housing off so I can get to it at a better angle. I decided to give up for the night at 11:00. I still have to get the housing off, and to get that off, I need to get the manifold off, and then the turbo will be bolted to nothing.... and so on...
I am so frustrated right now it's not even funny. What I thought to be a 30 minute job has turned into a 6hr + job. And now I'm going to have to bum a ride to school and work tomorrow off my friends/parents. Idiot who replaced it last probably didn't use anti sieze
.
What do you guys suggest? If I can't get it out with the housing off the car, I don't know what im gonna do. Maybe order a new one? But where?
