winnipeg,
I had some free time today so I decided to get my multey meter out and do some testing on the Talon just to make sure everything was good. I found that my o2 wiring had been cut spliced and taped back together. I decided to take a closer look at this and discovered that all 4 wires from the o2 were damaged and were full of corosion and bare spots, and the white wire is pulled completley out of the o2. I ordered a new one but I have to wait for it to come in 1 week from now. My question is, could this be the reason for my hard starts, the engine falling on its face at 5500 rpm and my horrible lean condion. I also found that the hole in the manifold has damaged threads, but I thhink I can get away with just sending a tape though it a couple of times.

Yea your o2 can cause a lot of problems.I've had one run really lean then just shut off randomly.I dont think it could cause hard starts, since the ecu has a programmed fuel/timing map it uses before the car gets to operating temp.

I found it funny that with all the bad wires and such, and the fact that when I checked for voltage I got nothing on my meter. But I'm not getting a CEL, and the car runs smooth and has good power up to 5500. It will still pull RPM's after that but you can feel that there is no power to be had.

Your car shouldent fall on its face at WOT though, as the ecu disables the front o2 sensor at wide open throttle. Although I would bet it will make your car run alot better, it will also improve your gas mielage considerably.

I would say almost without a doubt you are running lean/pig rich at higher rpms and are having timing pulled. Check out your fuel system, filter etc.

I'm going to pick up a fuel presser tester and new fuel filter when I pick up my new o2. I wouldn't be surprised that my pump is weak. This is a true Canadian car, corosion on every electicle conecter in the car. The o2 is after the turbo, so I should be able to tap the hole without taking everything apart.
