I am building my 4g64 turbo project and have a manifold and t3/t4 turbo. I was either going to not use the o2 sensor or have it put in my downpipe. I am not too familiar with DSMs and their o2 housings. Will my downpipe set up work or what other opinions do I have.

Thanks a lot.

put an o2, youd run extremely rich and could have all kind of fuel trim problems.
In which i dont think it would affect you at wot, but still not a good thing not to have.
Actually just get a wideband with that.

Would I put it in in the downpipe. Will that work?

a wide band can go where ever you want to drill into the exhaust, for the stock 02 sensor there should be a threaded hole somewhere on the 02 housing, every manifold should have one...? If not then yea id say the downpipe/ or if you have 02 dump would be the next best place but make sure the wires can reach.

Ideally you should put it in an O2 housing, but if you're going with a full Garrett turbo that needs a custom dp that bolts directly to the turbo you can put it in the dp. You should put it less than 12" from the turbine outlet. You don't really want it on a dump tube, but on the main exhaust.
