After making a post about having a problem with my EGT probe, it appears that a lot of people have this same problem. Does anyone know why these probes go "bad" or what is wrong with them? Can they be cleaned or fixed? Luckily I still have my receipt and they have agreed to send me a replacement but what can be done for those who don't have that option? I was thinking about spraying it down with a few cleaners but then got to thinking why would the surface effect it ability to do its job? Anyone have some knowledge they would like to share about how these work or a possible fix? I've got a test dummy waiting for any possible solutions....

Is the TRE probe compatable with a carbon fiber autometer EGT gauge?

Where can they be bought if so?

Thanks in advance.

I'm talking about the regular probe that comes with the autometer gauge.
