egt probe??

I'm installing a used probe I bought on traders and the probe is too long. Autometer said I can buy a shorter tip for $40. Before I go and spend the $40 I was going to try and bend this one but I don't know which way to bend it because I don't know where the thread will end if you know what I mean. Just looking for some ideas.

I thought an EGT gauge was nothing more than a glorified thermocouple. I can't imagine that it would matter which way you bent the probe because it'll still get nice and hot either way. Maybe I'm completely off my rocker...

I'm trying to bend it with the flow of the exhust so to cut down the cross section.

You should consider getting a probe from TRE www.teamrip.com as opposed to getting a new one from Autometer. They are the same price and the TRE probe is far superior. I wont waste time saying why, but trust me, its bad ass.
