Ordered a pair of EDM tails and installed them on my 2g, i noticed after putting them in i had no running/parking/dash/hvac/side marker lights. I thought it could be since the EDM tails weren't wired correctly that there may be a connection that needs to be made in order for them to work. i followed this write up and still to cannot get the running lights to work. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/correct-2g-edm-taillight-wiring-with-pictures.462588/
I figured a bad dimmer switch could have caused my issue and bypass'ed the switch but still the lights don't work. I decided to check my fuses and noticed that the fuse had blown (i figured while i was wiring the EDM tails) so i replaced it and tried again the fuse blew again. Anyone have any ideas where i should check? Much appreciated

Yeah it sounds frustrating but you're going to need to go back and triple check your work. Put the wiring back to stock and mark positives and negatives from the sockets. For the bulb to illuminate it needs 1 power and 1 ground, more than likely you have 2 power sources on one bulb without a ground which overpowers the bulb and blows the fuse.

Edit

I just read the write up and it is extremely confusing in my opinion.

This one seems more thorough and explains why you are wiring everything

Basically if you tap the brake light signal before it gets to the flasher you stop all lights from illuminating until you run the wire to them manually.

The only missing step is to cut the wire for illumination to run that back only to the center and middle light. I would reccomend a relay at this point as the length of the cable may lead to a voltage drop from the front of the car to the back and to the other bulbs.

For The Turn Signal To Be Only The Outer Corner You may need To run a smaller flasher unit with more resistance, or just cut the signal for the flash on the 2 inner bulbs and run a resistor on the outer bulbs to simulate the draw of the now disconnected 2 center bulbs. I would also be tempted to try and tap the turn signal wire before it hits the flasher and manually install an electronic flasher from an autoparts store.

Again I have not attempted any of this, but this talon tail light write up makes much more sense to me than all that splicing and crossing wires. A volt meter will be your friend here either way, seems like it would be easier to test voltage right there under the dash at the relay to determine what wire does what when you hit the brake pedal or turn signal
