ecu swap from from 97 to 95 eagle talon

I have a 97 eclipse gst stick and also a 95 eagle talon automatic i want swap my ecu from my 97 to my 95 eagle talon would it work , cause the ecu is from a 97 stick to a 95 automatic and is there any mods that have to be done

That's going the opposite direction from the usual swap. I put a 95 EPROM ECU from a manual AWD into my 97 auto FWD so I don't see why you can't go the other way. A couple of things will be different. You will have to swap the spark plug wires on cylinders 1 with 2 and 3 with 4. The firing order is different. Also the CAS signal is different. It's inverted; the ECU will see an upside down signal. The car will run but some cars will throw an occasional misfire CEL because of the inverted CAS signal and it may run a little rough at idle. My car ran fine for a day like that without throwing a CEL. I took the 95 ECU back out until I get DSMLink.
