Alright here we go.
To star, I have a brand new v3 full package. Including the gm maf plug and play cable from ecmlink. Alright here is the problem, plug in the laptop after installing everything as needed I.E. link chip in ECU,GM MAF cable, ETC. We have spent around 2 weekends(We all work and dont get time to mess with cars allday LOLOL)
trying to fix it. We have changed settings on link, removed the link chip all together and put the stock eprom in with the old MAF translator and this works!! we can tune out the fuel, WHOO.... We didnt buy link for fuel, we bought link for timing, data logging and all the other awsome stuff it provides like 2step.... and to allow 30PSI.

So the problem list so far is:

1.We cant start the car for more than 4SEC with the GM maf hooked up without it dying.

2. We can install the old ECU and Olds translator And it runs Perfect! (So its not the MAF)

I will post a log later, Im not near the car right now but will be soon. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS!!! I am sure we didnt miss anything and it was tuned from ecmlink to just plug and play with I guess a base tune for use to dial it in.
 
It's going to be the Maf cable. There's a chip in there that will short out. I had this same exact problem last year. And i tried every this. Your going to pay for a new MaF cable to get your car running good again. I went through 3 Maf and 2 fuel pump a coil trying to figure it out. I just spent the money and got the new ecmlink maf cable.

If he got the MAF cable from ECMtuning, I HIGHLY doubt its the cable. I would definitely be surprised knowing the quality that comes from Thomas and the others at ECMtuning.
 
Cable was shipped brand new from ecmtuning . I don't think its the cable seeing as how we hooked the gm maf translator up with the ecmlink ecu still in and it wouldn't even try and start, it did turn over just didn't start.

And snowboarder, yes we fooled with all the maf settings in the program. It will run without the maf hooked up on any setting for the maf . I.E. stock, 3" and 3.5"

Ok, I got it working now I move to the fun of tuning.

Problem

Idle switch was engaged . The car doesn't have one so it would just die. Problem solved. If anyone wants to help with tuning this thing im all ears.
