I am in the process of putting my car back together. Mods I'm still waiting on are 1000cc FIC, FP turbo manifold and evo3 16g. Still undecided if I want to stick with my 190lph or move to a 255hp plus afpr.

Question is how safe is it break in a brand new motor with upgraded internals using ECMLink? I don't have that much knowledge on tuning DSMs but I do have basic knowledge on tuning in general. I will be following ECM Link tutorials but I don't want to blow my new motor during break in stage. From looking at some of the vids I can grasp the concept fairly well. (intial start up and tuning)

How safe am I if I follow the tutorial while breaking in the motor?

Thanks :thumb:

You can use ECMLink to break it in as long as you utilize the stock fuel system and leave the fuel settings alone. Stock injectors and your factory fuel pressure.

You just want to eliminate the chance of washing down the cylinders with fuel by trying to setup your new fuel system on link while on the fresh motor.

After your rings seat then feel free to change out your injectors and getting them dialed in.

Good info to know! :thumb:

I bought the car with a 190lph, would that cause a problem with breaking in the motor? Also, I have bpr7es....any issues with those breaking it in?

Nope, no issue. Be sure to get an AFPR installed (when you do the 255) so you know exactly what fuel pressure you will be running and having it adjustable is always a plus.

Thanks for the help! I'm more excited knowing I don't have to wait for all my performance mods to come in to start her up!

Thanks

You'll be good. Just be sure to keep the ECMLink settings set for a stock fuel system (global fuel and dead time both at 0) and use the stock 450cc injectors.
