ECMLink Questions...

Hey guys, my birthday is coming up in a few days and it's been a long time since I've bought myself anything, even longer since I've did anything to my car too it seems. I've been looking at getting ECMLink Lite now that it's so cheap. Right now I just really want the data logging feature, so can I use the stock maps or is there such a thing? I've searched for this but couldn't find anything... I have no WBo2 sensor yet so tuning it would be shooting in the dark.

I think my car is knocking a little in the higher rpms but my datalogger died so I'm not sure, but it does feel like it's pulling timing. I don't plan on tuning it until I get a Wide Band, but I would atleast like to see what my engine is doing. I just want to run the stock maps... So why pay $100 for a datalogging setup when I can spend $245 more and do a LOT more? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ya for sure.. They can set the car up to run just like the stock ecu with injectors and all.

ECMlink is just a piggy back tuning system, meaning it still uses the original ecu and you can adjust it via there software. So the basic stock tune is always in place that you work off of.

it is in no way a piggyback. it replaces the eeprom chip and uses nothing of stock value to tune off of. it is as close to a standalone ems than anything else you can get (along with ostrich). a piggy back goes between a sensor and an ecu input or an ecu output and a electromechanical device to alter what is going on. the ecmlink completely changes internal code that is going on. a piggyback is something like an safc or something crappy (just my opnion) like that.
