ECM Question

Can you use a TSi ECM in a ES 2.0L Talon or if not is there any scrap ECM you can use or do you have to send it to a complany like JET for them to optimize it for you. Is there any other cheaper way

There are EPROM N/T ECU's and I know Keydiver has done a few chips for guys with substantial engine mods. If yours is close to stock there isn't that much to do.

There aren't too many different 1G N/T ECU's. If the other car is a '94 it's very likely to be the same ECU. The TSi turbo ECU wouldn't be right for your non-turbo car. You just have to watch for California vs Federal emissions. If both are Canadian models that wouldn't be an issue.

I kind off lost you if both cars were Canadian models like you were saying my Talon ES and a 94 TSi that I found would his ECM work in my car if I put in a cold air in take and used his Fuel Pump, Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pressure Regulator that way I would be flowing more air not quite as much as a TSi but more than a stock ES and the bigger fuel injectors would allow me to flow more fuel so would this set up work.

And another question I had is do you know if it would be possible to use TSi cams in my car for both the intake and exhaust because to compensate for the turbo they must have a longer duration right?

When I do the mods I plan to do them all at once nothing to serious heres what I plan to do:

Port And Polish the Head
Cold Air Intake
Fuel Pump Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pressure Regulator (Off a TSi same year)
Full Exhaust ( 2 1/4 inch Headers no cat and a straight through muffler)
The ECM (Hopefully if possible off a TSi same year)

Nothing to agrresive just mods that will hopefully let me atleast keep up with a stock TSi
Cams (again hopefully if Possible off a TSi same year)

Ask Mav, I'm not a very good N/T source.

When I first read your post I forgot that the N/T Talon was called an ESi so my post kind of got mangled by realizing at the end that you were really asking if you could run a Turbo ECU in your car. If you swapped over the ECU, injectors, cams, knock sensor, regulator it would run but I can't say how well. The timing and fuel maps are designed for a lower compression engine.

You need to ask an N/T Expert.

i have two socketed eprom ecu's for n/t. md150270 and md150271. they are from sohc. if you change the chip, would they work in our cars? the ecu's say ENGINEERING SAMPLE on them.
