I was going to post this on the ecmlink forums but for some reason my password is showing incorrect and the password reset wont send to my email. Just got the V3 and I have looked up this question but have not found anything on it. I'm wondering if I need to do actual pulls down the road (we have way too many cops in our tiny county so I am not looking to get a ticket) or can I just pick my car up on the hoist so the tires can spin off the ground to do tuning? I am new to this and not sure if the ground resistance is needed to tune or what. I also read that tuning with link without a wideband is useless? Well I just saw that this morning when looking up everything else... So I will need to order a wideband. Can I do a basic tune to just see whats going on with my car smoking, I figure either the AF is off which is what I am hoping otherwise I am assuming a valve problem. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!!

No, the car has to be performing under a load, which requires actual driving conditions, or a dyno.

You'll need a wideband to do any sort of meaningful tuning. The car also needs to be mechanically sound. Smoking would indicate to me it's not, so that will need to be sorted prior to tuning, not after.

Alright I appreciate it. Does anyone have an idea of why it would smoke pretty bad at start up and then go away after it's been running for awhile. If I get on it pretty good it sometimes smokes too. Valves? Any ideas would be awesome!
