So by chance, I have ended up with two sets of rotors for my 1Gb and I am trying to decide which ones to use. There is no financial incentive to keep one over the other. I am hoping to get a good discussion on the technical merit of each, while avoiding any brand loyalty.

I think the main focus is around the cooling vent design, since that seems to be the biggest difference.

Thoughts?

Brembos on the left with more "open" veins, EBC on the right with the "closed" veins

Also, I noticed that the Brembo has this slot machined out, but only on one side?? Not sure what that is about..

I've noticed that inexpensive rotors (not saying EBC is) seem to have that style casting.

As for integrity, I seriously doubt there is any risk with that design cast considering it's a Brembo rotor ;)

They're similar to the point that you will never notice a difference. Unless you're road racing or doing serious track days, put the one on that makes you feel better and go with it.

I agree. Its the perfect side by side comparison!

Brilliant! ROFL

I do agree that for occasional back road twisties and DD, this question is probably pointless... the design was just different enough that I wanted to see what people thought.

I have the Brembos mounted right now, but the car is nowhere near driving anytime soon.
