Can someone please help me with a link or a how to in order to adjust the wastegate on my turbo. The pos that the previous owner put on there isnt worked. The rod for the wastegate is basically falling out. When out tuning it today my friend and I were realizing that the wastegate wasnt working because it wasnt regulating the boost at all.
Im thinking of just externally gating it for now.

For now, I would just like a link or a how to on how to adjust it for the short term. Thanks.
 
Remove all oil lines, Coolant lines, Oil return line, and take the two bolts that hold the down pipe on then remove the 4 bolts on top. take the turbo off throw it in the garbage and get a new one. Ebay turbos are horrible turbo's

as for adjusting it it should have two nuts one long and the other short to lock it into place. just tighten the little one to lock it into place and go from there.

Im gonna replace it eventually. I just want something to band-aid it for the time being.
 
if u want to adjust the wastegate un hook from turbo unscrew it like 1/4 in from turbo nipple, then take a air compressor and blow like 20psi threw it and bar will go right on turbo, should work good then, also un hook your mbc and if u get 9-10psi steady with mbc off, it should be good to go.

If I want to go with an external wastegate setup and weld the flapper shut, what will I need? Obviously an external wastegate. What else? I want to try not to go with an open dump.
 
A manifold with a wastegate port on it, a wasteate to match the flange on the manifold and a dump tube to bolt to the exhaust port of the wastegate to direct the Hot air coming out down away from everything.

Is there a way to recirculate that? I just dont like the sound of an open dump.
 
haha, yea I hear ya on that one. Could a flange be welded onto a stock 2g exhaust manifold and perform ok?
 
Im not looking to go nuts on my setup. I just want something that is enjoyable to drive with a little giddyup.
