ebay projectors and hid?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

but coulnt i re-wire it so the lights are switched.and i would be running low beams in the inner and high beams in the outer.

Do you understand the inner lamp position is only designed to throw light all over the place for high beam use only? The reflector is designed completely different than a low beam lamp.

Simply changing the wiring is not going to instantly change it to low beam pattern.

Just stay stock. Stay away from ebay projectors with so called "halos". They die out. My left halo died on me already. I plan to go back stock on mine when I paint my 2gb. I think the stock headlights are a lot brighter then projectors. Thats just my experience with them.

That's because the halos do die out easily and the output from the projectors aren't good. But this thread is dealing with retrofitting HID projectors into the eBay housing. Now that is a good combination! :thumb:

Yes they do die out easily I learned the hardway but I do agree with you, what is retrofitting by the way? and how can you retrofit a housing?

Retrofitting is removing the crappy projector housing from a set of eBay projector headlights and putting a real HID projector housing in (i.e. from an Acura TSX). This will allow you to properly run HID's without blinding oncoming traffic or risking getting pulled over.

For a tech article, see post #2 of this thread.
