Hey.. I have a set of black projector headlights. The lighting is horrible with the H3 bulbs the come with. I can get a HID kit for $200 that will fit those headlights. I know they say they cause glare and all that, but due to the fact of my headlights being a projector would that help reduce the glare and make it look nicer? thanks

Yep, your projectors will help reduce the glare but the cutoff won't be perfect though but better than the H3 bulbs for sure. You'll also have a more intense light output and if you have a little bit of rice in you then you'll definitely like the overall look itself. Also you should be able to get a HID kit for cheaper than $200, try Ebay they should be more like $100 shipped; at least mine was.

Yes, you can get an H3 HID Kit for about 150 shipped... Are you sure they are H3 tho? Only the older Projector headlights used H3 bulbs, they all now use H1 bulbs, which actually in fact are being used on new car's low beams! Funny huh? So the light output IS NOT your bulbs! Trust me on that one! The actual projector housing is what is puting out the horible light.

So you could install an HID kit inside your projectors, you will get brighter light... but stock will still be brighter... They will look cool tho.

To get the proper light/look, you need to do a retrofit. Do a search for AZDAve Projectors and it should have his retrofit pictures. Using a real D2S Projector Housing and D2S HID kit to get the proper beam patern and light output.

Also on a personal note, the glare with HID's in stock headlights, is something! I get flashed all the time from people thinking my highs are on, but they aren't. LOL my highs are much worst! My light output however, is insane! I can light up my entire street and I'm only using 10000k HID 9006!

I used to have Projectors and the only glare I got out of them, was a cool color change effect... the light output with the Retrofit and HID's was awsome!

I'm sure others will post pictures!

Ok, ignore the posts above...

Are you fcuking kidding me? Why do you whore this Appearance forum so much and act like you know everything dude?

The guy never asked about doing a retrofit so that's why I simply did not get into that. And yes, the light output is much brighter with the HID kit installed in Ebay projectors than just H3 bulbs installed. How do I know? Because just like the OP my projectors came with H3's and yes the difference was night and day compared after I installed my HID kit. My cousin RWKustoms can vouch for me on this whole HID shit cause I've helped him do a couple of retro's so none of this is new to me.

And as for the glare the guy asked if his projectors will give minimal glare and I answered his question correctly. Like you said if this HID kit was installed in a stock headlight housing then the glare would be tremendous and as stated before with the Ebay projectors the glare is still there but minimal but the cutoff isn't perfect.

My post above was nothing but correct info and from personal experience. Do you really think that you CAN'T get a Ebay HID kit for $100? Tell me no and see if I dont find you link.

It was meant in no disrespect. You just mentioned rice and I don't think its rice at all.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend. As for whoring... I'm bored! Somewhat on sick leave from an accident so I have alot of time on my hands. Sorry.

For the love of god do a retrofit. H3 HID bulbs in ebay projectors in the picture. I've since bought TSX projectors and D2s bulbs for a proper HID conversion.

Yeah the retrofit will be a "night and day" difference. I helped my cousin do a couple of retrofits and he actually also used TSX projectors and man his shit is nice. You can follow this writeup if need be, that's the one we followed.

Different projectors but same concept.

Stock housing period distributs light brighter and more evenly spread on the ground then ebay projectors.

Stock housing with HID's is another story... the light is soo flippin bright. But bad problem with glare... if I used D2R bulbs it might be better. People always think my high's are on...

Watch, its kinda dark but I'll go outside and take a picture of my Stock Headlights With D2S/9006 HIDs from Ebay look... same pic that clay shows....

Yeah I know the stock housings are gonna give you more light ouput and distribution but as you said the glare is unbareable, I just didn't understand your statement because it wasn't clear. Yeah like the pic that Clay posted, the Ebay projectors gives that distorted light output but less glare. Anyways I'm always up for looking at pics. :D

Well its not unbearable... its really not like high beams... its just a glare that can confuse drivers... I've seen my car driving towards me before and it was fine to me.... when you turn my highs on... thats unbearable...

BTW, sorry for the crapy location... the car is still parked in my back yard until I get the head gasket.

yea i see what you mean.. I just thought that sence the projectors I have are a solid beam that the HIDs would not be all that bad..I just wanted them for better style and brighter lighting..

You can get brighter lighting by just doing a H3 HID setup in ebay projectors... but trust me, you'll dislike it! Cause the light doesn't go far and only lights up like fog lights...

considering your below the cut-off line taking the photo, for sure it's going to be bright..... I am getting a 2g tomorrow and am about to jump into the 4g63 world, but I had a DC integra (stock projectors) and anytime i bent down and looked at them below the cutoff line of course they were unbarable...... but maybe i'm wrong, im a noob in this forum anyway right ;) :D

Also, are HID's on stock 2g headlights really that bad???

No, that is above the cut off line. HID's in Stock 2G Headlights... are not as bad as high beams, but they are in between low beam intensity, and high beam intensity. Just because there is a glare. Not as if your looking below the cut off line, just a large glow of bright light. I've driven towards my car at night and I loved the way my headlights looked. I also have them a little bit adjusted downward, to make the ground brighter... But the glare is pretty bright, which is why they are illigal.

However, Illigal is only to who cares. If a cop is pissed off and wants to just #### with you, then yeah you'll get a ticket that a nice lil recipit showing stock bulbs will easily take care of. But I have never been pulled over in my entire time of owning these HID's.

However, if you plan on getting HID's for your stock housings, don't make my mistake on buying D2S bulbs, D2S are made for Projector's. D2R bulbs are made for Reflector housings... they have a block on top to reduce glare. Dunno how much glare, but it might be better.
