Ive looked everywhere and cant find a 1GA with hid projectors besides the hid sealed conversion ones.

I want to get a dual projector setup and have them pop up just above the "fake headlights" and I'm having a hard time finding anyone who has done it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

and before anyone says don't do it because you will blind oncoming traffic, I'm using OEM Audi projectors ballasts and bulbs so it wont be a problem.

This is the closest thing I came up with, from Arctic Racing, but if I remember correctly, his popups are in that position permanently. I don't think there is a way to have the headlights come up partially.

Im sure there is a way to do it. if nothing else a trip to Fry's can fix that problem.

How deep is the space in the headlight housings?

Has anyone else ever done this? im pretty sure there has been but i cant find one

I'm planning to do the same thing when I have the cash... have a friend who does vac-molding, and he's willing to make a 'blank' so that holes can be cut to keep the final product looking clean.
As for sleepy eyes, adjust the actuation linkage from the headlight motor to the popup assembly (if you want them to still flip up and down), or pull the popup motor relay from your underhood fusebox and manually crank the motors to the right height if you want them in a fixed position.

Fitting the HID housings in the stock sealed beam enclosure will be the tough part, depending on how deep the HID units are. I grabbed a spare set of popup enclosures just so I could test stuff out of the car, before having to work around all the wiring and so on, for a rough fitment.

do you have a measurment on how deep the pop up enclosures are? the projector/bulb assembly is 6 1/2 inches total. it should work

I hand made all of this. Got spare buckets from the wrecker and ripped off some projector housings from wrecked Integras/Infinitys. Cut the front of the plastic headlight cover off and glued on a clear piece of lucite plexi. Put plexi in oven at 200 F for about 10 mintues and bent and held over stock light covers to get same angle and shape. Lights are permantly down, I have installed 6000k HID's. I need to find a better way to glue/attach the plexi, industial glue a bit messy.

We need to see more of these bad boys! Especially with the HIDs on. We need some farther away shots and some straight-on shots of the front of the car to really get a feel for what this looks like, but just from what I have seen so far it looks damn good.

Yeah I'll try to get some more shots/night shots. Just picture an Acura TL, that's what it looks like. I have been lazy and busy at the same time. I only have one side done. I was playing around with a lot of those RX7 pictures then I stumbled on a page that does them for panterra's (sp). Photobucket is being a piece, so I'll get some more photos later.

Slayer, those look great!! I have been looking for something along these lines since I got my DSM. Not much out there for us 1GA's. I have HID's in my other cars and love them, I want to put them in my Talon. Love to see some night pics when you finish them!

Those projector lights don't look very well-made. At least the ones I came across.

165mm H4656 H4 HID EURO DIAMOND HEADLIGHTS SET: eBay Motors (item 230154656437 end time Nov-02-10 23:09:22 PDT)

These, on the other hand, would have some HIDs (or some quality bulbs) looking pretty sick. I'm planning on buying and installing this set and adding an HID kit soon.

Thats what I did as well bought those auto pals light house conversion and matte it up with the sharphid and it has been great so far. I aim it pretty well so the on coming traffic will not get blind and i have yet to get flash as well
