Yeah its been weird for me too... Im at school in morgantown but home for me is allentown. The pattern is whatever happens here hits the lehigh valley within a day or two. Im kinda pissed, I noticed on the tip a couple spots starting to look like surface rust. It rubbed right off but I dont like the looks of this. It sure as hell looks like stainless steel

wow.. hmm.. I think stainless steel can build a little surface rust. but It should come right off. I sure hope they sent me a system as nice as yours!!!

Ok, well here are some pictures. Not the greatest what so ever but i couldnt do much with a camera phone and 25 degree weather but heres what i got.

I dont know what happened with this picture but you can still see that the hanger on the muffler doesnt come close to maching with the rubber hanger.

I also made a red circle around how the hanger comes off the muffler here. Not even close.

Thanks for the pictures Jeff! I got rid of my X3 racing one(i thought it was xtune) but it was 2 1/2 inch, and I should receive my [email protected]'s 3 inch exhaust soon. They said that its full 3 inches, but it tapers to 2.85 inches at the downpipe flange..
:( oh well.. Is yours full stainless steel, or no?? man.. I hope I don't run into the exhaust hanger problems like you did with your xtune! I wonder if it is the same exhaut design.. just different people selling em... Does yours have 2 mufflers and a resonator?? like semprini's? Oh, and since all the mounts did not match up, do you hear your exhaust system hit the chassis when you hit bumps and stuff?

Semprini, would you beable to take pictures of it on your car??? Since I ordered the same exact one you did from the same people.. I'd like to know if all the hangars matched up and what not.... THANKS!!!

Mark

alright, so i just order me one too guys! the one from Japanimportshop. hope it gets in by this weekend!

YEa the AWD version is not as "refined" as the FWD ones. The FWD ones seem to have no problem whatsoever, except the necking down at the flanges, but thats common.

Jeff thanks for the pics, if you get better ones please post it. For the AWD guys, someone already did a review a while back, but he was the only one to do it, Jeff is the 2nd to provide pics other than the one in the last review. I was hoping you could provide pics prior to install, more detailed/clear pics, but obviously its too late for that. :) Anything is better than nothing though, looks like the old pic from last review is still the reference for us AWD guys interested in it.

It does not look like stainless steel, or maybe its been painted with some high-temp, who knows, can owners chime in on it? I actually like it, more stealthy look, unfortunately none of the cheap downpipes are the same and are stainless steel and would just look out of wack, if your into matching pipes that will eventually get scratched and no one hardly ever seeing anyways ;)

MarkAngelo, you have a GST so yours is completely different, it is the one pictured in the first page that people have posted. Stainless steel, apex n1 style, necks down at the flanges. Bring it to an exhaust shop for them to make it true 3"

Yeah sorry Ive been real busy with school and work. Lately when I get home its dark. The entire hanging system from the FWD to the AWD I see is different. The FWD have bolts that go through the rubber hanger. Everything lined up for me. Jeff I dont know why your muffler is so far to the left. Once I mounted mine up I tweaked it a little to get everything to line up. Thats the only thing, once it warms up im gonna spend an hour and get under and move the brackets around alittle to get it where I want it. So far I like it, sounds great and looks good.

Also Im thinking about getting the whole rear section jet coated black... I think itll look good. Im not big on any type of "chrome" look anyway.

Im pretty sure its SS, my HKS hi power was exactly like this with the black/grey paint and was stainless. We had no troubles mounting it up and it doesnt tap on anything, just that one hanger on the muffler, but thats nothing an exhaust shop and $20 cant fix. There are also no extra mufflers or resonators, just a straight 3 inch pipe. As for the hanger closest to the o2 sensor, its possible to get the bolt in but we honsetly didnt feel like trying and the ehxuast is pretty stable. Once i get that hanger on it will pull more to the right and not have the weird off-centered look. My friend has a digital camera so maybe tomorrow i'll be able to snap some better pics and get a video clip up. We took a sound clip but were having a hard time uploading it because of the file so it will just be easier to make it a video clip. Im very pleased with the sound, kinda gurgly at lower rpms and you can hear the turbo as the rpms come down. So tomorrow a possible clip of this exhaust.:thumb:

Well, if you're going to go ebay. I would recommend this system if you have an awd 2g.
Full 3 inch all the way through, Sounds good, everything bolts up easily with no leaks, and smog legal to boot.

Yea thats also a nice one for the price. Its one of those slip fits, no flanges or anything, not too familiar how they hook up, but thats probably how.

Only thing its not stainless steel, but aluminum? So I dont know too much of the pros and cons, which is stronger/rust/etc?

Will the japanimportshop exhaust and the Xtune bolt up to the stock cat? I plan on doing a catback, followed by a high flow cat/downpipe later one.

thanks

thanks

the xtune bolted up to my stock downpipe/cat when i had it.

I wouldn't trust local exhaust shops LOL, but i live in West Virginia. Also It won't help is the muffler is bottled. I guess i see your point though for the money.

Im in morgantown.. I went to the Monroe shop when I got in a bind and they did a great job. I know Monroe is a franchise and everything but the locals still work there. The mech had me come out and showed me everything he was doing, nice guy. Not having to deal with rusted ass bolts and drilling the front pipe flange bolts was worth 80 bucks

k, i bought the japanimport exhaust. now my question is, i also bought a authentic apex n1 dp, which eliminates the cat, will this bolt up without a problem?
