eBay Eclipse Foglight replacements

Wow, those are really cool! I have the OEM style 2G Fogs, but no brackets, and had to rig some thing up... These would clean up the look on my car for sure.
Though the light it self is not that nice, especially the blue (IMO)

Well I actually found them when I was looking for a clear foglight. One without all the lines and the old yellowed lenses. I wanted to get just yellow bulbs in a clear housing. If you get them, take some pics and tell us how they turn out.

So that includes everything? Ive been thinking about buying these for awhile but i was always sketchy.

Ya do would they fit with a fmic? Anyone who gets these should reply with feedback.

The fogs look like the old Pilot Automotive PL-720 units but the rear end had a different mounting tab so maybe not.

I requested more info from the seller (rear view pic and light details).

I use both Pilot Automotive fogs (converted to HID) and also Hella fogs. Both have pretty good cut-off lines for such small projectors. The Pilots are hard to find in clear but the yellow is still found online easily. Both are around $50-55 delivered. The old Blazer fogs are hard to find now too but were also a little deeper. Those are also an option.

Space-wise these fit pretty well but I don't have a front mount on my GSX yet to check that. On my RS with a Hahn FMIC they fit easily.

I actually did something similar to this with my foglights. I got a set of foglights that fit imside the foglight bezel, and drilled a hole through the sides of the bezel to secure it so it is one piece.

I used those fog lights (not the kit, just those fog lights) over 2 years ago before I ended up buying the quality OEM ones.

They fit around a FMIC just fine, but then again I fit my FMIC around the OEM ones also.

They worked great until the winter, or if you drive in a lot of rain. The front glass projectors are very picky towards sudden decreases in temperature and crack. I went through 3 pairs like that, but then again I drove my car year round.

That being said, if you have a nice weather car only, they do fit perfectly and I never had a problem with them popping out.

Like Dave posted, they are probably the eBay version of the Pilot lights which were no different from each other (IMO) as I went through 2 pairs of the eBay ones, and one of the Pilot ones with the same results and light output.

I got that exact fog light kit! I haven't put it on yet, but here is some pictures of what I got.....

The fog lights seem kinda of cheap to me, but like I said I haven't installed these yet. So I'm not gonna hate...

AzDave do you have a good site where I can get the Pilot foglights - The yellow ones? I want fogs on my car since it's an RS. Always wanted yellow ones to offset the HID lights, kinda like how the Lexus IS300 is done.

Thanks in advance

It used to be that I could never find the clear, only yellow. Now it's the other way around. The last time I saw the Pilot PL-720B (yellow) was in a local Autozone store.

I have recently noticed these identical looking lights in Checker stores under the Blazer name but they sure look the same. They say "Ultra-White Series" on the box in bold print but then the smaller print says the light output is yellow.

For mounting, I place mine off the frame rail and fairly deep in the bezel so that a minor bumper deflection doesn't bump into the fog light and make it highlight squirrels up in the trees at night.

Here are a few shots of my fog light install. Note this is on an RS with a Hahn FMIC and I have retained the front bumper support. I have also converted these to HID so you see the rear of the light is deeper and the McCulloch ballast mounts next to it on the frame.

Output shot after HID conversion for those who are going to ask...this is with a 5000K re-based H3 bulb.

Man your builds are always so super clean. Your car has been an inspiration for me, especially when you give such detailed info when you show how your build progressed. :thumb:

I really don't care whether or not I get the Yellow lensed fogs, I just wanted to run yellow bulbs. Are the Pilot fog bulbs replacable w/o crazy modding of the lights? Thanks again. If not, I'll probably go for the fogs that Crimson put up.

Crimson, sorry if you feel like I hijacked your thread. Hope ya can forgive me man.

Note that the PL-720B (yellow) uses a white bulb, just like any fog light. The yellow color comes from the filtering provided by the dichroic filter coating on the projector lens . If you buy the yellow version of the Pilot lamps you will always get yellow light regardless of the various white light bulbs you may install.

Pilots and Hella projectors use standard H3 for filament bulbs but if you convert to HID the H3C mini capsule requires some slight modding. The more standard H3 re-based HID kit bulb requires that you to seal the bulb in place with RTV.

NeMiZiS,
Can you fire those puppies up and take a pic of the light output or give an opinion of their performance? Thanks if so.
