So About 3 months ago I purchased an ebay 16g, and asked a few questions on this site.
Most told me to not install it, but I'm here to say that the turbo spools up nicely and is running amazing.

I am currently only running 12 psi, so that could be a factor but it's running great. I wanted to perhaps shed some light for anyone interested in buying one.

I got the RRE install kit, once all on the only problem that occured was when under pressure, the lower intercooler pipe got disconnected from the silicon coupler that was connecting it to the J-pipe. That was an easy fix, I just flanged out the end of the LICP a small bit and sanded down the ceramic coating, now the silicon coupler holds it perfect. So my suggestion, is that if handled properly and installed correctly, the ebay 16g can be a very nice turbo upgrade from the T25.

Hopefully anyone in need of a cheap turbo can safely buy one from ebay without feeling to overwhelmed with the bad evidence.

Although I will say this, I have not raced my eclipse on the track with this turbo, so I cannot vouch for the turbo holding up under racing conditions, but for a mild upgrade for more street performance it's great. If you guys have any questions let me know :D :dsm:

Someone just recently did a review as well..

We are just waiting on pics prior to install and after.

Most of these auctions on EBAY come with a 2g install kit. Which auction did you get? I see based on your profile you are running stock fuel system. How is that going for you? How is the logs looking?

Good to see I'm not the only one happy with there ebay purchase :D Mines been goin 8 months now pushin 18 psi and sometimes more since day one.. I dont regret buying it and still no shaft play :)

Actually I'm not too sure how accurate my profile is anymore. I am on the stock fuel system, Also with a stock BOV and UICP. I'm boosting at about 12 psi, No boost creep. Runs strong. I haven't done any tuning though, so no logs. I can say that the powerband shifted and I have tons of mid range horsepower. The ebay 16g fully spools about 4250 rpm.

As for the auction I got, It did come with a 2g install kit. I however also purchased the RRE hacker/tweeker kit. The ebay kit, didn't come with the neccessary pipes, nor were the gaskets up to par with what is needed.

The install was kind of hard, manuvering over the motor mount, but RRE had great pictures. The install for my ebay 16g went exactly the same as a regular 16g install. So it's not too bad.

i actually bought a ebay 16g without knowing it was a ebay 16g "good photographer" arrrr!! anyways, i installed, and been great at 25 psi for about 7 months now. i have logged 40lb/min on a good day, but 39lb/min is an average.

Haha, see I find this funny, because it's a day and night diference in the T25 to 14b. Your not even close to putting that turbo where it should be. Runing that low of boost wont really net you any more power than a 14b will. It's when you crank it on up 18psi+ that that puppy comes to life. So, if you think it's so amazeing now, just wait untill you have the supporting mods to really open it up ;)

Frankly the 14B is alot faster in the lower psi range on a stockish car. That's why the car came with a 14B.

And it's not exactly a "mild upgrade" when you have the supporting mods. I mean it can handle about 70+ more horsepower than a 14B, that's not mild.

It's extremely mild on stock fuel though and stock exhaust though.

There is a seller on Ebay offering a 16g with 12 month unlimited mile warranty. When I asked him about details of the warranty the responce was "Dear Customer:
There is no Profesional Installation needs, we only require some picture of the problems(Turbo is sitting in the right position and still a problem) then you just e-mail us the picture and we will replace a new one for you. Thanks!!" Anyone have any experience with JNE power?

$400 and a full year waranty? Why would you spend twice that ?
