What are the best things to do to get power out of a stock 1G?

It's all at your fingertips if you just search bro. Get fuel mods and a way to tune to handle more boost then crank that 14b up! Maintenance!!It's all at your fingertips if you just search bro. Get fuel mods and a way to tune to handle more boost then crank that 14b up!

. You can find all kinds of used parts on this forum to make your car faster. Just make sure the seller is honest and really knows what there selling or even has it. And make sure to use PayPal just in case
If the motor is fresh then you just need fuel and a way to tune things. The stock 14b is a fun turbo around 20-22psi. Quick spooler and holds solid to redline. eBay, cheap and makes power Haha. Maybe not as long lasting and fitment issue.
Bone stock? If so, the absolute first thing I'd do is rewire your fuel pump & install a boost gauge, assuming that you've already taken care of everything maintenance-related. Then start modifying from there...

Absolutely. I have owned my car since 2006 and it has never left me stranded because I am a maintenance nazi, and I never "push" my setup.Best thing you can do to get reliable power? Get the easy/cheap bug out of your head. Now. It's lead to more broken DSMs and the death of the scene. It's not dead yet, but it's in its death pangs now partly because of so many people trying to get cheap/easy power. Maintenance as said before. Check the timing belt, all the hoses, water pump, all the really boring stuff like gaskets, alternator, etc. Check, double check, triple check everything. Seriously.
Once you've done that, grab yourself a K&N airfilter. Hack the aircan, hack the MAF sensor, do all the freemods. I'm not going to tell you what they are, you'll have to search and learn for yourself. Grab a MBC, rewire your fuel pump, throw on a GOOD turboback exhaust. Grab yourself a good boost gauge, turn the boost up to 16lbs. Once you've learned how to deal with that little bit of increased power, go from there. 16G, ECMLink, 750-850cc injectors, wideband, clutch. Do not...DO NOT get in a hurry and try to cheap out. You WILL regret it, the DSM will ABSOLUTELY leave you stranded and miserable, you will end up parting it out, crushing it, or continually trying to band-aid it together until you tear your hair out.
Best advice bar none: Get the word cheap out of your head. Even a good, solid 16G setup that is RELIABLE, will cost you. Granted not as much in comparison as a lot of other cars would, but it's not gonna be for pennies. Do it once, do it right.
