E-85 turbo 420a

I am building my turbo/megasquirt 420a and am thinking about running e-85. Would e-85 be better for high boost since its higher octane than the pump gas i have access to. I know i would need to remove the rubber lines, and im pretty sure my 1200cc rc injectors will keep up with the extra fuel required. Anybody ever tryed this? any performance reason to do this?
 
my mechanic's dsm is running 22psi on a 20g with e85 and it runs great so far no problems with his set up but it is a 4g63t
 
You should be able to run it with no problems, since it sounds like you have the supporting parts. The 1200cc's should be enough. Do you have an aftermarket FPR, as well? If memory serves, you will use 33.3% more fuel on E85 vs. regular gas.

As far as the rubber lines go, it would not hurt to replace them with stainless or perhaps a treated rubber. I'm not 100% sure what the factory flex fuel cars run for fuel lines, but you could look into that. I've seen the E85 destroy rubber; of course it doesn't happen overnight... but it does.

Yeah all that is correct. Any kind of ethonal gas is corrosive. At least all that I have seen anyhow. I read somewhere that AMS said there research shows that it reduces the life of piston rings pretty significantly. I've heard a few times F1 guys say the same thing, and they have been using ethanol for years.
