I agree with this. Stop being a dyno racer and take your car with 380 rwhp bolt on some slicks and run some 11s at the track and shut all these tools up. :)

Believe me I'm far from a dyno racer. I could care less about dyno numbers, that should explain why I've never dynoed my car. And I don't see when I claimed I make 380 whp (not rwhp you must be too used to your stang :D). I do need some slicks and some tuning, but 11 sec et's will be hard for a FWD. My same settup on a AWD DSM should net high 11's.

for all you idiots on this thread wondering, a local here has got 11.8/1?? with his lr2. Runing 23 psi + 110, oh yea did I mention its FWD?

Actually for me its all about the 60mph punch :) I know i'm not going to put down the best times regardless of which turbo I have. Its all about the MPH though at the track :thumb:

ET wins races not MPH. The only thing mph tells you is how much power the car's making but we all know that power is useless unless you can put it to the ground. Just ask those 12 sec @130 mph supra guys. ;)

What does this post have to do with the topic of the thread?

Larry could you post your pump gas log..? URL to download the DAT would be easier to view.

Sorry not going to read the 6 pages so if this was asked or explained just yell at me. WHy did you do a pull in 3rd? Iv always been told that 4th gives you the most accurate results b/c its more a 1:1 ration with the gears and the dyno... All the pulls iv seen done are in 4th. maybe thats why the low numbers... but then again ithink 3rd would make them a little higher..

It looks like you are running into a minor fuel cut problem in the middle of 5k. The line becomes irregular.

Most dyno pulls on DSMS are done in 4th gear. If you do a dyno pull on the SAME dyno (usually dynojet), and your cousin in India does on his dynojet, you may asume that each pull will be 99% acurate, and comparison will be very accurate. Again, do 4th gear pulls, and use a DynoJet dyno, and chances are the guy on the other side of the planet with the same dyno, can be compared to you.

2nd, dont use dyno pulls to compare with another car. Your driving skill will determine much more than your power. Use dyno pulls to compare your last tuning session to your next, for progress sake.

If your like me and thrive on highway pulls, MPH and WHP/Torque matter more than ET (Like most Supras). Thats just preferance. Otherwise, use dyno time to study your progress (and nothing else) and work on your driving skill at the track (forget MPH).

I checked out your dyno pulls, and something is wrong. You loose too much power, too quickly. That torque should net you even more HP. The typical DSM curve is much more fluent, especially with a big turbo. If you should be aiming to replicate anything/anyone, the curve should be your goal. Check out a few good dyno plots on the internet. They would be "Ideal" curves for a street car.

Also, one last advice (if you care to take it), look over your car. Everything matters. Coolant temp, air flow to frontmount, leaks around the car, sparkplugs gapped differently from each other, timing (too much timing isnt allways good... ), etc.

I'm not an expert, this is my personal advice. Back to my cave for good..

Because of this:

Read a bit more carefully next time ;)

no offense but you guys really need to read the thread if your going to reply.. I dynod in 3rd gear because I ran the car out to 8500rpms which in 4th gear would be around 165mph which I dont like the idea of doing 165 sitting still.

I know the power dropped off and I know the curve should have heald longer and made more power, my timing curve also came to a dead halt at 15 right when I hit 383 and both timing and power stopped going up. The timing went flat and the power dropped. I know the stock cams are holding me back and I know I should have manually increased the timing and turned down the boost..

As I said, Ive said it all before, read the thread :)

Great another post the has zero to do with this thread:rolleyes: Larry this thread is starting to SUCK. Can some one please delete all the zero content, and off topic posts. So this can at least be a readable thread. *mine included*

NEWS FLASH
we do not care what you have done with X turbo in this thread. this is about larrys dyno run with his L2R if you want to brag about what you have done, go start your own thread:rolleyes:

It is done.

You know I'm not going to waste time at this point deleting the crap. From now on I will delete any bench racing/other turbo comparing/retarded post I com across.

in defense of the people who didn't read the entire thread... this thread is something like 6 pages long... but yeah.... if you don't care to read the whole thread then don't post.

well Larry... after reading the last 143 posts... I have decided that you suck:rolleyes: I mean... all you could manage to do was double the stock HP... and you could ONLY muster 191.5 HP per Liter... I mean crap dude... you couldn't even manage a SIMPLE 100HP PER CYLINDER??

dude... those numbers are off the hook... and anyone who tells you different must be gargeling BONGwater... I totally IDOLIZE your car... and I can't WAIT to see the #s you put down with the GSX, the cams, and a little more tuning... I don't care WHAT turbo you run... those #s are for real....:thumb:

your getting fuel cut a bit plus your definately over your cams. This car will be impressive* when those issues are taken care of.

*(impressive compared to what you already have)

Just a note. I ran a 11.91@120mph on my l2r missing and popping down the track in Phoenix when it was about 105 outside. Car was running so rich it was popping its way down the track.

Double post.

Another side note. Running an l3r now, and its a tasty turbo. Selling it as I got some financial issues to work out.

a) 3rd gear on a GS-T isn't much lower than 4th in an AWD. Not a big enough difference to yammer on and on about it, seems as none of y'all bothered to do the math.

b) Kevin- The jar of 222's is on the way, yer gonna need 'em. ;)

BTW congrats on the new ball and chain!

Instead of water injection or any thing like that, how about fixing the issues and tuning it properly before you get all disappointed with the pump gas numbers.
