Just wondering........i see that most of you guys with an L2R either have some type of built motor OR are planning on it. Is this turbo a little too much for a stock 2g motor with the basic supporting mods?

No but there are just alot of hardcore guys who have this turbo want to run 2bar on this turbo with a built motor.

You do need an upgraded fuel system, upgraded IC system and other basic stuff before considering an L2R though......

is it just me, or wouldn't the logical reasoning here be to just *not* run this turbo balls out? keep the boost reasonable, i don't see any reason you can't run a huge turbo on a stock motor if you want... or maybe this would just make too much sense :) there's GOTTA be a catch... someone enlighten us!

No catch it will handle 20psi on a stock 7-bolt as long as your motor is in good running order. Having a built motor is just insurance.

Even better, it'll [and has one more than one occasion] run
22 PSI with not so much as a flinch .. keep in mind that with
stock motors our restriction is the head - lifting at around 24
PSI.

Even having said that, Rob [BLK95GSX] ran roughly 25
PSI without problems on a similar setup.

Without problems my ass..... was spinning all 4 tires through first and second!!!!! :D

For all of you who havn't seen it.....

This is what you call luck while running a 12.09 at 119mph.... didn't know it was there till about a week later (parked the car for good behavior and drove my beater... gave the GSX a break)... when it wasn't idleing properly. Went to check the timing and DOH!

Now she needs a FPR (spoolinup style), Tires and a new car alarm... old one is out dated! I have my eye on a 2 way system, looks pretty sweet.

yeah, you could just keep the boost down but come on now, you know you can turn up the boost and make insane amounts of power in a few seconds.. do you have enuf control to not do it?

that's what manual boost controllers are for-- such in the pain in the ass to adjust, it isn't worth the time.
