Wait till you get to the 25psi and higher.
:D :D

Been there( But not on a dsm yet).

Soon very soon. (dam it when is that T3T4 showing up LOL.

You not be seeing any Dyno numbers unless you bring an AWD dyno to AZ. :D

I got the T-bolt Clamp on and did some 15psi runs this morning. All I can say is damn. Full boost by 3500rpm Then it pulls and pulls and pulls with an extra kick at 4.5k when the cams come on.The thing is sick fast and that's untuned and only 15psi. I can't wait to dial it in more and turn it up to 20psi.

It's a bad decease.

Dam it feels good.

Well Tonight we are racing my friends T88 Supra agianst a 900rr.

27psi and 110 oct in the supra.

60 to 160 mph is the race.

Dam I wish i had my supra back.

I've been planning on ordering this turbo for a month and godda**it after hearing about it I can't wait anymore. It sounds sick and I'm jealous

John..

I'm hoping you decided to do the MAP mod to the AFC like I told you about a while ago.... I think that'll make the turbo setup go just a bit faster... not to mention be more consistant day to day.

After reading thru that thread. I would dare not do that myself.

I could help you... but In-N-Out hamburgers are a must (we don't have those in Tucson).... I should be able to do it next time I'm in phx, long as you have all the parts -- just remind me to bring my soldering iron and other misc. electrical tools

There's an In-N-out 10min from my house. My Treat :D. I don't know which parts to buy. I'll ask you more about it on AIM tonight.

The agreement we have with Garrett/Honeywell is that we cannot release them to the public. We want to keep Garrett on our good side.:)

Let's just say it looks even better than the 50 trim.

Why would they not want to release them? I would think it would help sell them. That would be like a pump manufacturer selling a pump and saying "It flows 56 GPM, a lot better than XYZ model". I can't show you the pump curve, but trust me, it will work for your application". You know?

I am not knocking on you--if you have an agreement with Garrett, it would be best for you to honor it. Did they say they are going to release the info at a certain date or keep it secret forever?

what are the supporting mods needed to install the L2r. I plan on building a cyclone engine from ground up so is there anything i need to change. like internals and externals so i can get this trick running. I finally got another job so the wheels are set in motion. for my fly tsi or gsx.:D

Compressor maps are sometimes fiercely guarded secrets. No one wants their design stolen I think that is what they are protecting against.

I'm sure that's exaclty the reason. When compressor maps are released all of sudden everyone and there brother thinks there a turbo maker.

Hey! You DID change your name! :)

So do you think a FMIC is required to run this turbo or would a good aftermarket SMIC suffice for street use? Yeah, I know I posted a thread about that a few days ago, but there seemed to be no real consensus. Besides, I want to hear from somebody that actually has one...

Dude I don’t know what you are looking for. It doesn’t take someone that owns that turbo to tell you whether or not you will need one. Any big turbo is going to require a FMIC to keep the intake air temperatures down plain and simple.

I suppose. But, if I really wanted to steal their design, I could just go buy a GT wheel and laser scan it into a 3-D model. The flow maps would be rather useless for this purpose. The best fluids guys in the world couldn't go backwards from a flow map to design a compressor wheel. I don't know, seems counterproductive from a sales perspective. I am an engineering geek--I like numbers. We want to see numbers!

Well, anyway, when someone gets their grubby little hands on the map(and isn't contractually bound to keep it secret), how about posting it here! ;)

What does a compressor map have to do with "building a turbo" What a crap comment. I have about a ten page book scanned in my CPU if anyone wants to see the garrett compressor maps for the GT series wheels.

Also, the GT series was designed to work with a different compressor cover... Maybe thats why there are no numbers..

Not to say the to4e cover will not work, but thats not what they were designed for...

However, try to fit a tso4 compressor cover while using the stock manifold and water pipe :)

I understand what you're saying-- I'm just looking for as many opinions and as much info as I can get my hands on. You can never have too much. I appreciate your input-- I guess I'm just overly concerned about having overheating problems later.

FWIW I was using a br street core with spal fans on the stock radiator and never really had an overheating issue even with the ac on. I ended up going with a Fluidyne radiator because I like to do some NASA open tracking and so I never had to worry about going all out even in warm weather. With the addition of the aluminum radiator I never ever have coolant temp issues even doing 80+ on the turnpike with the ac on in 100+ degree weather.

Uhh... Why? Get a VCE. They are cheap now.. I'm sure you can do the install yourself.
