I trade you the heat for the

Wisconsin winter.

my car sit in the garage 5 months of the year.

Which is a bad thing Because I keep thinking of new mods to put on the dam car.:D

God I'm so jealous. frigging t-too small. how long did it take you to spool to 15 psi? soooooo frustrating to see all these bada$$ rides, and then have to drive mine completely stock because I can't afford to mod. Oh well, I s'posed thats what you get for being 17 and in high school. Can't wait to be out on my own making some real $$.
The weather sucks so bad here in Iowa. Lately its been nice, but usually its either extremely cold w/ snow on the ground, or extremely hot with steam in the air. Who knows... Keep us posted on your turbo, I'm hoping to have enough loot to get that and a whole lot of other parts this x-mas. Any ideas why it keeps blowing your IC pipe off at 15 psi, but with the mutt it'd handle 20?

bryan

Your lucky to have a nice car in High school.

i wish I had anything close to your car back in the days.:D

John,
turbo build boost fast. Little lag but when it comes on all hell braeks lose.

If you ever had a big turbo 20 or bigger it hard to go back.

Not sure how long it took. I was to busy makin sure it didn't spike watching the egt, trying to control the car. and not blow the IC pipe off.

I don't think garret has released them yet. Only to a select few and I'm not one of them. :D

I know it sucks so bad I can't spool or tune this bad-boy until I get a T-bolt clamp or try to double clamp it.

This may sound stupid, but spray the ic pipe and turbo with hairspray prior to installing the silicon coupler. It'll make it nice and slick for putting the hose over the pipes, but also drys sticky to help them stay on.

Also get some of those "kick ass" hose clamps that Kevin has, and you're set.

I have yet to blow off an IC hose at 25+psi with those clamps/hairspray

Where'd you get a crazy idea like that from? (Not saying it a bad one, I wanna try it myself.)

I use something far less sophisticated but I make it myself. I spit on the pipe. Don't laugh, it works and it dries streak free! :D

That is awesome John,

I was workin on my bros car all weekend or else I would have loved to come out and learn a thing or two. I sure hope to see you and the rest of you (friggin lucky bastards) agpeer's out at the track sometime. What did you let your mutt go for?

Kevin's dropping a clamp off tonight(that's back on page 1 of this thread) Otherwise I will just have to drive home w/o spooling which is hard with this turbo.

Candela...I will let you know.

Trick a friend showed me a long time ago when my super - spool - cool T25 was blowing my "Dave Brode" upper IC apart every other WOT.

Damn T25 was just making too much power

Yeah... I saw that OMG

I'd say, still do the hairspray, I'm sure you have some of that laying around!!! :p

I read about the hairspray thing in a mountain bike magazine a while back as a way to install new handlebar grips. I've tried it on my bike and it works, so I'm sure it works great on similar things like this as well. Good idea-- just remember that it's flammable...

Damnit... why'd you have to remind him
I wanted to watch the show..

But yeah, that's why I said to let it dry!... flames are bad... mkaaaaay?

The agreement we have with Garrett/Honeywell is that we cannot release them to the public. We want to keep Garrett on our good side.:)

Let's just say it looks even better than the 50 trim.

HAHA LOL!

looks like you made a good choice on the turbo. hope that the new clamps help keep that i/c pipe from blowing off.

Tightented my clamp down with a ratchet and put some hairspray on the pipe. Still to scared to boost hard but I brought up to 10psi where I could start to here the sweet song of the turbo whining. It's higher pitched then the mutt was. After the clamp gets here today I will have some impressions of full 15psi. then some tuning then 20psi. :D
