After using a few different products doing interior painting on a few of my friends cars I was fairly disappointed with the either very glossy or too dull finish that any of them offered. Yesterday I was painting my buddies c5 interior and decided to go with black trim paint by dupont. All I did was wipe it down with my prep solution, rinse it, dry it, and scuff it with a light stripping pad (where as with some of the other products they required you to prime the part). I used three coats of it and it was dry in 25 minutes. The best part is it's the perfect balance between gloss and flat, verrry OEM looking. The finish is pretty damn durrable too, doesnt rub off like most of the paints i have worked with. So after I finished the trim pieces I did the carpets with the vinyl and fabric paint and they came out really good. One coat wont do the trick (at least not over tan) and you have to be very even in your coats or you will get tiger striping. (My buddy tried to paint a storage compartment cover and it looked like a car if you gave an inexpierienced painter a gun full of silver metallic on his first job
) If anyone is interested when I get his car back together this weekend I could post a couple pics of it.. should look especially good with the new corbeaus.
