dumb question before I give up

ok I havent touched my talon tsi in a while but im still convinced its a headgasket, anyways its still blowing white smoke out the exhaust when i rev it and wont go past 2k and idles like crap, But I noticed that my coolant resvour tank was empty should that be full would it be worth my time to fill it up. Also is there a vfaq on how to remove the head gasket to see if its blown.

If your dealing with a blown HG, or the possibility of one...
1st... order one.
2nd Do a compresion check and a leak down check. If problems with both...
3rd prepare to pull the head.
Go to Vfaq and follow he precedures outlined for your year car.

White smoke is always burning coolant - either blown HG or turbo coolant seals. Compression test will tell if HG.

My sister's Cavalier had a blown head gasket, and we used this stuff called "Bar's Leak" I don't remember exactly if we put it in the oil or what, but it fixed it believe it or not. SAved about $1,000.
