I've decided to go for dual ext. pumps for E85 conversion. My goal is to get the most hp for my current engine set up. I'm sumping my factory fuel tank and modified my fuel sending unit for external pumps. I know the AMS fuel pump test showed the ext walbro flowed the best. I was planning on dual ext. Walbro but would a dual Bosch 044's be an overkill? Anyone know any Bosch 044 test results?

In case anyones wondering, this set up will be; dual -6AN feed line from sending unit to ext. pumps; "Y fitting -6AN lines to -8AN feed line from pump to rail; -6AN return line. All the fuel lines are either made from stainless steel hard lines or Aeroquip teflon hoses

I have a relay control box with LED's to will indicate pump operation. This should give me a little peace of mind in case one of the relays fail. It will also have switches to allow me to do some pump pre-checks before each race.

Those two black cartridges are e85 compatible pre-filters. I will be running FIC 2150 injectors. Kaotic Red, are your dual 044's noisy enough to attrack a cop next to you?

For anyone that wants to convert to dual ext pumps. Let me know I have all the info such as, part numbers and required tools. It took less than 1 hr to modify.

I thought the purpose of a sump was to draw the fuel from the actual sump meaning the way your setup is configured is pointless for a sumped tank?

I also have a sumped stock tank and it is currently feeding twin 044s:

That was original plan, -10AN from the back to feed the twins. It looks bad ass, but it looks like a cop magnet. I was debating on the twin 044, until I heard them in person. Those pumps are incredibly load. The siphon tube feeds off the baffle inside. A FFTEC wiseman gave it a blessing for my goals. Can't wait to get it tuned.

They're DSMs, cops don't haggle us much either way. I however will be changing over to my proclassic lines which being all black wont be as flashy as red blue and polished lines. The guys at FFTec are great guys and friends of mine so if they saw what you are going for and approved it, I'd be willing to support it.

But even so as far as a sumped setup goes, its only successful if it diverts the fuel in a method that concentrates the fuel in a specific area whether it be off the tank or an external sump. As far as the 044s go, it is what it is, at this power level is the minimum I can get away with and even so it would be no more loud than dual a1000s or an eliminator pump. You get use to it, besides, you can't hear it over the engine and turbo anyways. :hellyeah:ROFL

We got it all up and running. Thanks to pneumo!!! For helping me prepare the car for dyno day. The car ran very strong on pump gas. It almost made me stay on 91 octane. This new fuel system works like a champ. I'm still going to upgrade to E85. Sean from FFTEC scheduled me for Tuesday and I will post the Mustang Dyno results immediately.

Here are the dyno results from a Mustang Dyno. I was told this would easily be low 500's on a Dyno Jet. Thanks to Dave "Pneumo" and Sean Burgess at FFTEC.
434 AWHP and 358 ft-lbs. The dotted lines are from the preivious pull when the items below failed.

Had trouble at first with the following items;
1. waste gate spring
2. GM maf leak
3. failed #1 pump
4. dump pipe too short (exh recirculated to intake)
5. turbo return hose leaked

The intake manifold is a big restriction and also the GM map sensor maxed out at 29 psi.
