i'm new to the tuner world LOL and was looking some help i just bought a 1997 eclipse spyder non turbo with 119 000 miles. the IAT sensor is readin -40 below and its also showing maf code and a map sensor code. would the intake air temp sensor throw these others off or have i got other issues going on. any advice would be apperciated.:thumb:

Bad MAF. IAT is part of the MAF. What codes are you reading exactly and what are you reading them with? If you can give me some PID data or freeze-frame data I can give you more info.

sorry for not clearing everything up LOL here are the dtc codes p0105 p0110 p0100. now the car doesnt want to run with the mass air flow sensor hooked up. but it runs fine with it unhooked. the engine light will come on as soon as i crank it pretty much i will check for freeze frame in the morning and post it maybe this will give you something to go by in the mean time. if it wasnt a 97 and had to pass inspection i wouldnt even worry about it, but you know how that goes

Well, those are all airflow metering codes; that being said, there are other possibilities aside from just a bad sensor. One thing I would check is that the O2 sensor heater ground did not become dislodged, fouled or or otherwise compromised. If that ground fails, then you can burn the traces inside the ECU related to that particular ground i/e... MAF sensor, among other things. First, check the ground connection, should be on the heatshield near the cat, also check for continuity on the heater circuit ground. Next, pull the ECU, open the case and examine the traces inside for evidence of a short, it should be fairly conspicuous. Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Good Luck!

thats a good lead i will check that out in just a few. i will say when i bought the car he said it had a exhaust leak. they didnt tell me the cat had been cut off. now theres a oxygen sensor on the down pipe in front of where the cat should be and there is one behind where the cat would be where it bolts up to the back pipe. now saying that there is a ground wire that is free hanging that looks like it could go where your saying. but i see no connectors. are them the only o2 sensors on the car or am i missing some.

ok i gonna post the stats of when its running the freeze frame aint no count.

readiness monitor complete-no
fuel system 1- open loop=det
load value-0.0%
short term fuel trim 0.0
long term fuel trim 0.0
engine rpm- 1200
ignition timing 1.5-2.5 idling
intake air temp. negative 40 below
air flow rate- 0.00lb/min
o2 sensor 1-1.020v
o2 sensor 2 0.020v

best i can do right now maybe this will help you
