DSMtalk?

I'm with Mavisky words 100%. I loved Modified Mag. But seeing how they did this, I'm not going to buy one thing that will make them profit.

What I also found kind of interesting is when you type in DSMtalk.com, this shows up:

"DSMTalk.com is currently being upgraded.

Please try again later."

-As well as not linking to autoforums.com, the Address Bar still shows dsmtalk.com

I just got the same thing. There probubly doing more work on it. Imo its gunna be shit no matter what they change. Unless it goes back to what it was (although it probubly wont) i'm not going back there.

, they banned me last night just after I replied to a post of someone looking for a secondary dsm forum. All i said was yeah I already own one its called dsmpowered. You always need 2-3 good dsm forums but I guess they didnt like that post, haha. that's why I'm on here more than I was on there.

He is in the same small town in NM that Matt M has his shop in. And they are known associates. Also he mentions he is into "drag racing".

also note that he has a supra " hows tha supra (poo-pra) doin my man?" Ekool from dsmtalk also had a supra.


BTW some people have said that Matt M is Ekool, and from that association Matt M's business has been affected in undeserved negative way. I don't want to hurt Matt M's business anymore; until we get this straightened out.

They are not the same person. Matt Monett owns Dynamic Racing, which was one of the sponsors of DSMtalk and is a big name in the 3/S world. Ekool was just a friend of his who knew computers and was into cars as well. Since i'm somewhat local, I should go down there as ask them what the hell is up with that

I've browsed around on that site here and there the past couple years. I was a member, but tuners is my home. This site is excellent. They keep all of the nonsense out.

Yes you should. If he did sell it there is nothing he can do. At least you can find out how much it went for...Maybe we can get it back.

Based on his myspace he seems like a chump.

Maybe when modified realizes that they made the worst marketing move in history they will sell it back cheap.

i doubt modified would ever sell it back, even if all teh real car guys hate them, there's still all the ricers that buy the magazines for the body kit ads and such. why should they care if they abandoned their roots?

I would really just appreciate it if a moderator from Talk that has a membership here, could post and give any information on the subject. I'd just like to know if there was any notification prior for them or not. I'm guessing the answer is "no" though. This is the first DSM enthusiast site I registered under, and then I found Talk. Both are great sites. The only reason I was over there more was that it seemed there was a bigger number of people who were a little more patient on explaining things. There were less noobs and noob questions, but that is to be expected anywhere.

well im definately more than a little bit disapointed with this but seeing a lot of familiar faces from talk in this thread at least gives me hope that this site can become a new home for us all if dsmtalk is really dead for good. it was brought back from the dead once why cant it happen again?

All I have to say is I hope this site never turns into what DSMtalk was and I sincerly hope it does not turn into what it has become with being bought out. As for what I have to say to the newcomers, read the rules. We don't need this community brought down by immaturity and idiotic behavior. So pay attention, read the rules, and everybody will get along.

DSMtalk died awhile back. It wasn't the same place under etool and now dirt is finally being put over the corpse.

Pretty much the same people who brought info to talk are the same people that bring info here already.

Even if it is a shadow of it's pre-etool self it still has mountains of good archives. Does anyone know of a way to backup that data? For the moment dsmtalk is running again, including search and all the old threads.
