Hello,

I've been searching and wanted to clarify that I understand this right.

With DSMlink a Wideband, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (afpr) is still needed for tuning above 15psi? As the o2 reading that Link gives is not as accurate and Link doesn't control fuel pressure. And Link can be used for logging as well so a palm isn't needed?

Right now currently at 10psi (stock). Will be getting a MBC to go up to 15psi when the ECU get's back. That alone won't require an afpr, but a wideband would be helpful but not neccesary.

Will be getting either a 190 or 255 Walbro next along with an afpr. Wideband will come with these if not needed before.

Doing Link now because I sent in my newly purchased EPROM to get recapped and cleaned up and thought while it's in get link, kill a few birds with 1 stone should I say.

Mods in my profile are up-to-date as of now, will update when I get more (ie, Link, MBC, ect.) Can't put it in there when I don't have it;)

Just a recap

Wideband and AFPR are 100% needed after 15psi (that's with larger pump)?
No palm logger needed with Link?
Can I get away without an Wideband under 15psi with Link readings?

If you go with a 190lph pump a FPR is not needed. Depending on your future goals is how you should decide what pump to get. I currently have fic 650cc injectors, evo3 16g and a 190 lph pump and running 23 psi. I will be putting on a 57trim soon so I'm goin to swap out the pump and injectors for bigger. So if you plan on eventually going to bigger goals (Wich I'm sure you will) you might as well get a 255 and FPR now so you don't have to change it twice. Links wb reading is only an estimate so it would be wise to get one, as it will give you an accurate reading of your afr's. Good choice on getting link as IMO it is one of the best mods to buy first as you can make even a stock car run better. And you are correct, no need for a palm as link will log for you. Good luck, read the info on ecmlinks site, watch the tutorials to get a giod understanding and ask alot of questions as I'm sure you will have alot, we all do LOL

Good choice on going with link. Will save you the hastle of going through an SAFC and using a palm pilot. I always hated using a palm as it was usually a PITA. And, yes, it would be advisable to just go with a 255 fuel pump and afpr now so that you save yourself some money and time. After going with the SAFC route, and then switching to link, I realized that I should have just gone with link in the first place. Would have been so much easier.

You always want a wideband to be sure everything accurate with the readings. You can still tune without one but it's not recommended. I'd say go get yourself an Innovate LC-! wideband. Gauge is optional as it's the controller that gets tapped into the ECU to be logged.

You'll want larger injectors for sure and being that you have Link get at least 1000cc injectors to give yourself breathing room for the future.

With a 190 the AFPR is not needed but ideally if you plan on going for more power a 255 + AFPR would be a good choice.

But from there, just follow the upgrade path and you'll be golden.

I have a 255 without afpr. Oopps. I'm getting to that I was wondering what is a good one to run are the cheap ones work or are they garbage?

I ran a 255 forever without a afpr with no ill effects that i know of...but i now have a fuel lab afpr. I also recommend at least 1000cc injectors that's what i run with link and it idles as good as factory.just get big ones now so you don't have to buy them again in the future.

Sold the Talon. Now have a freshly rebuilt EPROM ECU for a 90. Didn't get the DSMlink as I sold the car before the repair was done.

Marking as Solved.
