When I started my build I was looking at v2 and now v3 is out and there's a lot of cool options but I cant find an answer to the following question. In the options for v2 there was idle rpm, launch rpm, & rev limiter, I no longer see these options on v3 are they gone? Or are the not flashed into the eprom any more you just set them on first startup? Thanks
 
I have yet to order it but i remembered on the v2 those options were there on the order screen, just curious thanks for the quick response
 
Yes, they did use to be questions when placing your order. However, with v3, you don't lose your settings if you disconnect your battery like you did with v2. You can set them at whatever you'd like when you get it.

If you'd like, when you get to the Delivery Information page after adding it to your cart, below the shipping selection there will be a comments box. You can type what other settings you'd like for base settings in there and I'm sure Tom would be able to include them when he makes the build for your chip.

I always assumed the ECU is in the cabin behind the radio. I took out what I believe is the ECU it is pretty much a black plastic box. Im second guessing myself since when I look online it's a bronze metal box, I went to my chitlans manual and it said 95-98 2.0Lturbo & 2.4L non turbo ECU is in the engine bay next to the fuse box. I don't believe this is true can some one point me in the right direction. I feel stupid for posting this. Thanks
 
Do a search for EVO ECU in a 2g. i was reading a few weeks ago that they figured out how to use it in a 2g. pretty cool write up.

might be something worth looking into if you're having a hard time finding a good 95 ecu.
 
And he could also flash his current ECU if he'd like. But I think it can only be flashed 100 times or so until it's dead. There's a thread on it as well.
I talked to Tom about ECU's and he told me this about black case ECU's "If you have a black plastic case ECU, I believe it's possible to reflash it using various pieces and parts and some freeware software. I do not have any information on how well it works or on the lifetime of the ECU when done this way."
He told me it can be expensive getting an ECU and dsm link. I also looked into the Evo Ecu I can get everything I need for around 600 dollars. I read about 10 pages off the 700 post thread and I tried googling it for some answer that I still have questions about. I found the knock problem but it's easy remedied with 3x multipliers. I also like the fast that its updated very regularly since there's so many option you don't have to wait for a new version release.
The main question I have is would it work with a GM MAF? I haven't found an answer for that, I know v3 dsmlink has an option for it for you don't have to get a maf translator. But I guess no big deal If I have to get one. I haven't seen anything about Fuel Injector sizes.
What would you guys recommend?
