it says I dont need a maft . I have the choice to buy a cord ,and do away with it but will that change anything???

has no one tuned there car with the new v3 software yet??

Don't bump your thread. And use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. I think we've warned you about this before.

Plenty of people have. If you currently have the MAF Translator, yes you have the option to get the ECMtuning cable to replace the translator. It will eliminate the option of something else going wrong (less chance of something getting messed up with wiring). It will also give you inputs for a wideband, MAP, IAT, etc. If you're migrating over from V2, nothing should be affected by just swapping the harness out for the translator.

No this will be a fresh job. my friend said that after he installed the maft on his v2 it spooled up quicker. I have one and dont mind putting it on if it would help the turbo spool. But if not then I will just buy the cable when I order my ecu.

The maf Translator is not going to help spool at all. If you swith setups from a 1g/2g maf to a gm maf, which you must to run a maft, then the gm maf is a lot less of a restriction therefore bettering your spool. The translator box isnt doing jack to help spool. Therefore the difference between the cable ecm offers and the box will make no difference. I would get the gm cable and say the heck with the translator box. It is much outdated now.

Yes the Maft helps you spool faster..... Why wouldn't it. You can run a very low restrictive intake. I would say my spool increase by 200 rpms.. stock maf is very restrictive and if it is still stock piping even more. You dont have to have the cable but for 75 bucks you might as well and sell the maft... youll get your money back...

The MAF-T has nothing to do with restriction. Running a GM MAF instead of the stock MAS is where the less restriction is.

The MAF-T is just the translator box. That's it.

I can see that you might just be using your terminology wrong.

Why do you guys all have to be so mean when posting. Obviously the "BOX" does nothing but when they say it helps with spool, its because you run higher flowing maf. If you just explain something nicer than people would get better and easier to read info.

To the OP v3 has an option so you can run the gm maf without the Maf-t. Its now built into the program so if you get the cable from ecmtuning you wont need the MAF-t to run the gm maf.

When My ECU fried I had to deciede what route I wanted to go as far as tuning (break parts = time for an upgrade). I was going to just buy an AEM EMS replacement but after doing research on both AEM and ECMlink I went with the Link V3. For two reasons...

1. Bad reviews of AEM quality and over all price $1,200 +

2. a $75 cable to get rid of my crappy MAFS rather then pay the difference between $595 and 1,200+

After that is all went downhill. I had excess money soooo... time to upgrade the pipes to accomodate the GM MAFS (dejon powerhouse upper intercooler pipes). Might as well get a bigger better BOV (Limited edition Black HKS. not the knock off). Wideband gauge, MBC, etc etc etc...

I think I have a problem.
