DSMLink Learning time...

I'm looking into DSMLink now for my own reasons. I was wondering how long it took those of you who own it to learn all of the operations and to get comfterable with it. Having the logging and tuning abilities on one screen looks to be a lot easier than a logger+SAFC or MAFT. Thanks for some feedback.

have you gone over the site? http://www.dsmlink.com/screenshots.html it will show you the different screenshots. Just from the looks of them, it looks a LOT easier than afc, the only drawback is you need a 95 eprom ecu... :

If you know how to tune with anything else, then you will learn it in a few minutes.
And of course, once you own it, you can email dave or tom (the guys who created it and update it constantly) and have them hook you up with the super secret dsmlink.com/forums where all your questions will be answered by actual dsmlink users and or dave or tom himself.

I didn't know there were forums, that's good to know. I've got the 95 EPROM already because I've been rocking a DSMchips chip (soon for sale) to compensate for my 650s. I'm a novice tunner when it comes to experiance. Best way to learn is do it I guess..

Sounds like you are making a good choice. Once you get a little time with it it will become a breeze.

What is the difference between getting your ecu socketed by DSMlink and by getting it socketed by DSMChips? Would DSMlink work with a DSMChips modified ecu?

The "socketing" is the same. The two chips are different. You can't have the DSMLink chip and DSMChips.com chip installed at the same time since there's only one socket.

Socketing is socketing. it jsut allows a chip to be removed and taken out easily. Period.

Alot easier than AFC? Haha, NO.

Yes there are forums and basic FAQ's (check the tech articles in dyno tuning). Its a very quick learning curve.
