Hello, I have a new Dsmlink Ver3 and my question is Why cant I get my new GM maf to work? In the Maf box the 3" GM maf is selected but it does not read it.Im using the cable from ecmtuning but its not working.. I thought the newly chipped computer was bad but when I hooked up my original stock Maf and selected stock maf in the setting the car ran perfectly...

Can you elaborate on what "does not read it" means? Do you have some datalogs you can post to our support forum showing a failed attempt to start the engine while the GM MAF and MAF cable were connected?

The car starts runs for about 10 seconds at a really low idle and dies ( about 450- 600rpm) when I try to rev the motor a little, just to keep it going it stalls instantly. I'm having problems with my lap top connecting because of my wife putting a hotsync for her cell phone which tries to take over all the com ports. I have no logs with the gm maf, which I purchased new. Whenever I disconnect the GM MAF and I change the settings from the GM stuff back to factory maf/ using the factory maf sensor and start the car I can get a decent idle and rev the car like it should. I have noticed in this mode (stock maf) the wideband is showing 15.2 - 15.6 when idiling and the stft is about -6, the long term is -14% . I have not tried to run the car with the GM Maf and the ecmtuner maf cable disconnected. I had to drive the car this morning so I left the stock maf on.

OK, so it could be as simple as needing calibration. Just about every GM MAF installation out there needs some amount of adjustments and tweaks. I would imagine the ECU is "reading" the GM MAF signal OK or else you'd get an airflow error code of some sort.

When you have more time, you'll need to grab a datalog of this happening and post it up on our forums. I'm sure we'll get this figured out pretty quick. If you can, also include a log with the engine starting and running for a few seconds on the factory MAF too. Comparing the two should make it pretty obvious what needs to happen next.
